The answer is yes, but it's dependant on engine output, ambient conditions, run time, and other supporting cooling system mods.

So for me, road racing with only a 160 stat and retuned efans and 100+ ambient conditions, I'll reach the limit of the EWP sooner than if I had a dual core radiator installed and 85 degree ambient conditions.

If someone with an EWP was to measure the pressure of the coolant just after the impeller I can tell you what it's actually flowing as installed. If I had an EWP I'd measure this my self.

The opti is visible again!

Scrapped off the old gross baked on gaskets

All clean

Cleaned the WP, installed new temp sensor with some Teflon sealer. Not to shabby for practically 160k mile car.
Looking good!

I'm pretty sure it's just leaking from the WP drive, but I have to take the opti off anyway so should I go ahead and put on all the seals and o rings while everything is off??

I would replace all the seals you have access to. I used a 10mm deep well socket IIRC to install the water pump seal.

No, no you did not. You posted your opinions and hearsay. You claimed to have facts, I asked for them, you made fun of me like a preschooler. You have yet to prove a thing that I called you out on. You get stuck on these random tidbits and have forgotten entirely why the discussion was actually brought up, aside from ewp = win. I guess you got butt hurt on that? Not sure.

I'm not driving halfway across the country because someone calls me out. I have more important things to do, like call AAA. I am flattered though!

I'm not sure who you are or what you do but if you want to scrape your pennies together, I can cut you a deal on my motor. I'm sure there are lots of cars that would bitch slap mine with a mwp. I don't see any setups on here that would though. Maybe some of the b body guys are running mechanicals and hauling ****** ***? I do love guys like you that talk **** with another guy's car. How does that feel?

You've got things all backwords, it's you that's conjuring opinion as fact. What I provided was factual.

Have you proven me wrong? You can't. Wonder why?

Mine pulls right off. It's a tight fit, but isn't pressed on. Try some lube on the hub, you want to get it between the hub and the pulley. The triangle thing is the hub, the pulley bolts to it with the 3 bolts you pulled out. The hub is pressed on and the secured with a center bolt. To get the hub of you'll need to remove that centry bolt (5/8 IIRC) then use a puller.

Most people have told me the pulley falls right off, mine sure hasn't! LOL, I usually just rent a puller but I though I'd try it this way. I gotta get this thing back on the road. Driving this 1982 carbureted 4 cylinder Toyota hilux back&forth to work is not cutting anymore lmao!

Maybe it's just me, but that water pump driveshaft seal is clearly not installed correctly. It looks like it was pushed on by hand until some resistance was met, at which point the installation was deemed complete and everyone went to the bar. In defense of the installer, I will say that beer is effing delicious.

Well things were going smooth, took the timing cover off... Timing chain has at LEAST 3/8" of play in it it is wore out big time after 157k miles.... Bleh I'm very upset to find this. Guess that's what I have to order tomorrow morning, when I was oh so close to being able to buy some sway bars... Meh
Anyone know best replacement chain that isn't too expensive?

Stock replacement will be your best bet. Don't forget sprockets too (get the right one for your year, they differ between vented and non-vented optis). LT1's do have a little more chain slack than I expected though.

I just bought a cloyes one at oreilys. It's for a 95, it'll be here at 2:00 o'clock. I have the receipt in case it's wrong, however the P/N was different between the 93 than the 95 so hope it's right how can you tell the difference between a vented design camshaft gear and non vented?

It's the way the optis are driven. Look about half way down this page:
