What injectors do I need? (General idea)
So my car is running and driving but before I get to have fun with it I need to get injectors and a tune. I'm looking at 39lb/hr and 40lb/hr injectors. That's what a couple of injector calculators gave me for an idea. Cam is 235/243, heads flow comparable to le2's, little more. Let me know what you guys think.

That's kind of what I had in mind. Just don't want to go to tune it and the guy say I'm way off in my injectors

Haha isn't that the truth. But I'm running stockers right now, so injectors aren't really and option, more of a must

FWIW, I'm running 42# injectors on my 383 with a smaller cam than yours is.....I would say 42# injectors would be fine, you could get away with 30s or 36s, but they all cost roughly the same and you'll have more wiggle room for future upgrades! I figured maybe one day I might want the option to hit it with a 100-150 shot of nitrous to see what happens and I wouldn't need to upgrade injectors to do so!
You might want to look into the Racetronix fuel pump and hotwire kit too, the stock pump may no be able to keep up with feeding that beast for too long!

30# will do the trick for the average h/c car, but if you're spending the money might as well go bigger (without going overboard atleast). I'd say go with some 39 or 42#'s and have some wiggle room. Stay away from accell injectors, factory Fords are your best bet for low-cost, reliable injectors. 03-04 Cobras and Lightnings will offer quality alternatives at a reasonable price.

30lbs will feed a pretty nasty solid roller 383 like 500rwhp and nitrous doesn't matter unless spraying it dry which nobody will recommend with a stock computer and worthwhile shot.
30lbs will likely launch better too due to better low rpm atomization.
The injector calculators are about sales and while it is true 30-42 all cost about the same there are legitimate performance arguments to be made for staying on the small end.

Larger injectors tend to slobber or dribble at small opening times (reduced efficiency, poor idle and low speed performance, increased emmissions, etc).
This is why there are so many different sizes of injectors, instead of small medium and large.
I buy used injectors from injector shops on Ebay that are flow tested and matched. Due to the way injectors are constructed they will last millions of miles. Never had any problems.
