Duralast gold or super start extreme?

Something that's great for maybe letting it sit for a week or 2 in the winter, plus accessories.

No price differences but what's more recommended from you guys?

I abused the **** out of that 5 year Walmart battery in the Camaro. I bought it in 07, and when we would go tailgating Mountaineer games I would pull the camaro battery, drive the K10 to the PIT, mount some huge house speakers to the K10 stereo, put in the Camaro battery, blast music for 2-3 hours until the camaro battery was dead, go into the game, come out and swap batteries, go home, then have Autozone quick charge the Camaro battery. It took about 6 of those complete deep cycle drains and horrible Autozone charges that year, then was a weekend/month/few month driver, never disconnected the battery. It would be dead sometimes after sitting a few months, I would charge it, and it made it 8 years before I had to replace it. And its about $30 cheaper than anywhere else.

I use 2 AA batteries taped together for weight savings. +1 on walmart batteries, they do a great job and they aren't $200 which is ridicules for a battery.

In the past I had GREAT results with the WalMart battery, last winter when I went to buy one for my truck all the reviews were that their quality had gone downhill. That is not to say don't buy from them, like I said buy from a convenient retailer with easy warranty. Quality spoecs change all the time and jus because one brand was great or junk 8+ years ago means little today.

Johnson Controls is the largest battery manufacturer in the world. At the moment, they make Walmart batteries and many of the other well recognized brands like Interstate, Optima, Varta, etc.

Couple years ago Optima went to complete garbage, friend who swore by them forever gave up after 3 bad ones in under 2 years across multiple vehicles.

As covered by at least 3 of us there are few manufacturers there will still be quality options within a manufacturer and that the retailer markets it as might not indicate anything about quality. So like I said pick a retailer you like........

For the last 6yrs My Optima red top has been great... But after hearing internet horror stories about em I will prolly get an Interstate AGM battery next... I always measure the battery box & get the Biggest battery that will fit with the Most CCAs for that size... I like AGM batteries because they dont leak & sweat like regular lead acid ones & after stripping the Rust from parts then painting all the parts I dont wanna do it again in the next few years lol

Find local battery recycling centers and get a blem. Got mine from a place called southern battery, 35$ because both terminal colors were black. Been going strong for two years... I remember on summer nights i would take the t-tops off and me and my girlfriend would go down gravel/dirt roads park off the side and just leave the key on for the radio to play and we'd always chill out listen to music and eat some takeout. Battery is still kicking ***... 35 bucks I can't complain

Just checked my local Walmart and they have 3 options. 550cca 1 year warranty $50, 600cca 2 year warranty $80, 700cca 5 year warranty $90. All are about 35lbs. O'Reilly and Autozone both charge $30 more in each category. My Optima red top from 2009 has 800cca and weighs about 40lbs. I've drained that thing a couple times and it's still doing alright.
