The problem with boost and mains is with a supercharger because you have the supercharger unit pulling against the crank and also making it turn the pulley

Is that hard on the main webbing though? I always thought it was just hard on the main bearing itself.

Very nice.

Did they come coated like that, or did you send them to PolyDyn?

Any power adder will bring in torque/VE increase way early which is a hell of a lot to ask of your rods/bearings.

Since these were a custom piston from Diamond, I had them do the coatings as well. It only added a week to the process. I'm interested in seeing how the 2 coatings on these hold up.

Had mine coated by diamond as well. Did you go with a heavier pin?

How many thousandths oversized is the bore for this kind of coated piston?

I am also very curious about the piston/wall clearance and ring selection type, I see the ports in the piston so I am wondering if you will be using a dykes style ring or what was the motivation i.e. will it be a 9-second "street car" with "tight" rings or will there be some kind of vacuum assist crankcase pump.

You size the piston to the bores. Not the other way around.

Heavier pin with double oiler

I understand that just worded it poorly, simply meant to ask the amount of clearance.

This type of piston is typically .007 per Diamond, minus .002 with the hard anodized coating for a .005 tolerance.
