I see them pop up on eBay periodically, buy they go for like $2-300. I got mine from a member here after posting a want ad in the classifieds section.

I'm surprised no one has tried to reverse engineer one to sell. Seems like there's still a market.

^^^ That's what I was thinking. I have a few b-body KMs laying around. Going to crack one open and inspect it.

OP you know for sure you need one??

AFAIK, the LT4 picked up knock at a different frequency than the typical LT1 KM. Which IMO you can adjust your tune and limit the spark retard if you are getting false knock.

I'm going through proving this "false knock" issue right now. I was going to go with the LT4 KM until I saw how rare they are now, and said screw that.

Plus I have read of people using the LT4 KM and it didn't help.

The LT4 came with RR. The noise they make GM felt was causing knock the PCM saw so the LT4 module deals with different harmonic range than the LT1 knock module.

The LT4 also came with "composite" valve covers to help mask the sound of the RR vs the steel ones like on the LT1

I am not a tuner but have read that the sensitivity of reading knock can be adjusted in the PCM. Some feel this is not a good idea as if the knock is real, the PCM won't pull the timing it should.

Like so many parts for 20 year old cars, the LT4 knock module is not made anymore and used ones command big $....supply and demand

When many of us put RR back in the 90's when the cars were fairly new the KM was around $25 from the dealer
