Default ordered painted headers, got chrome, good or bad?

I ordered painted mac mid length headers, and was going to just paint them with high temp header paint. But when i opened the box, they are chrome. How does chrome hold up to rust? will it be like having the ceramic coated? They do look cool.

are you sure they are chrome vs ceramic coated?

chrome headers turn blue/black from heat. Like motorcycle chrome exhaust where it exits the cyl head

I would think chrome would WAY out last just painted headers for rust

I have always had ceramic coated headers on my cars so can't comment on how well chrome holds up against rust

maybe someone who has chrome headers can reply

sound like you got more than you paid for...good.

They will rust, Ceramic is just about all that will hold up (depending on brand) Although the chrome will look pretty for a little while

Any idea how long before they start to rust? Car will probably never see rain or any type of bad weather.

Keeping it out of the rain will be a big help. But usually after a few hundred miles you will start to see they turn that purdyyy yellowish blue color. Thats my experience with mac chrome shorties on a 2009 4.6 Mustang. For my lt1 I'm ordering ceramic long tubes next week. I would of went painted myself but the car sees rain
