Default Question about front brakes replacement...

I picked up some rotors/pads for my 1996 Camaro LT1 from Brakemotive. Upon doing the front, I noticed that the brake pads weren't even close to fitting and the rotors were smaller than the ones that are on there. Did someone do a brake conversion? I'm really confused because the part number on the pad that was on there already came up as a duralast gold brake pad for a 1996 Saturn SL1.... (Part number DB913FE)

I was trying to find brake caliper bracket bolts but apparently the LT1's didn't have them from the factory? This one obviously does...and the slider pins aren't 3/8 HEX like they're supposed to be.

In the first pic, you can see that whoever did it had slider pins that pushed into the brake caliper bracket and then another screw that screwed into that and held it in place. What the heck is going on here?

You have the aluminum dual piston LS1 calipers there so looks like the PO did an LS1 brake conversion. Great mod for the LT1 f-bodies.

Since the abutment bracket is bolted directly to the knuckle and not an adaptor, it appears that the previous owner did an "LS" swap. Any brand pad and rotor should work for a 1998-2002 f-body. For future reference, the knuckles and brake hoses have also been swapped.

What should I do about the slider pins? I found it odd that there is the normal slider pin that slides into the caliper, and then another screw that screws into that slider pin.

When I did the front brakes I lubbed up the slider pin with grease and used blue lock tite on the screw. Here's a picture on how it comes

Awesome. Even found that part on Amazon Prime. Thanks a bunch. I was completely confused when I went to change the fronts. Hopefully Brakemotive will let me exchange the LT1 style brakes for the LS1 style.

My local parts store also had the caliper guide pins in stock, I'm sure yours would too. Save the ones from amazon for a just in case situation. I had one seize in the abutment bracket and all the parts stores were closed, wish I had a set on hand then.

Yeah I found them at Autozone. I ended up getting Brakemotive to exchange my lt1 front brakes for ls1 front brakes, so now I just have to wait for them to get here! can't wait
