How many LT1 kits have you built???

Looks like you have this down to a science.

Probably 30+... definitely dont have it down to a science, but thanks for the compliment. I have a good handle on layout, and what should fit vs what shouldn't. Sometimes there are things I miss though, I am human.

Have you built a kit to retain AC and stock K member? Looks like a lot of your kits have the turbo up front where you need to go vertical radiator.

Yes. I have built a bunch of kits that keep A/c. I only do one variation now that keeps a/c, its log manifold kit (similar to TTi street kit).

Example of log manifold that keeps A/C:

The lower the turbo the better chance at keeping the radiator in stock location.

That's nice. I've contemplated building a turbo kit...just because lol.

Good to see it's possible. Is the cross over pipe below the k member bottom plate/oil pan? What size pipe did you use for the cross over?

Don't worry I'm not stealing ideas to market my own LOL I'd just like to see what's possible in the event I want to tackle something like this.

The restriction in that setup is a single 3" DP with 75mm turbine wheel. If you have the motor for more, and can run a bigger DP with tubular k or fender dump, sky is the limit.

I have done some bigger builds, one grudge car is in the 1200rwhp range (big single with exhaust dump for downpipe.

I typically do street setups since most LT1 owners don't spend big money on serious motors.
Thanks for the response RealQuick - I'll definitely keep that in mind if I ever want (Can afford lol) to take it to the next level. I'm currently in the 600-625 rwhp range now on the bottle and am running in the local No-prep stick shift class. Obviously power isn't the only limiting factor in that class but at my power level I'm still getting my butt kicked. My goal is always to go a round or two - still lots of fun and gives me extra beer drinking time haha

cross over is pretty much flush with the bottom of the k. I used 2.5" crossover. It's a little oversized, but the kits I make spool pretty good. If someone wanted to really get insta-spool, I would build the crossover smaller... maybe 2 or 2 1/8".

If I was to build a setup, I would do it for more low end spool capability. I like to autocross and with everything in the 1st/2nd gear and maxing out at about 50mph (considered a fast course locally) it would be good to have the boost come on relatively quick.

I did end up dyno’ing this setup. Made 817rwhp/758rwtq @ 16psi with Precision 7675 on stock bottom LS3

The more the boost is turned up, for more power, the less wastegate flow will go into the downpipe.

I know this is a old post, but it was bothering me.

I agree , but the wastegate is still trying to dump a boat load off exhaust into the DP.

800rwhp is achievable at ~20psi... a 7675 turbo would probably push 40psi with gate closed...

from experience I gained 114rwhp at “the same 16psi” by changing 3 things (703rwhp @ 16psi vs 817rwhp @ 16psi):

1) wastegate dump to atmosphere to drop back pressure
2) cutouts to drop back pressure
3) ditched intake tubing and filter for a screen to eliminate intake restrictions
