Default AFR head guys come in..

I’m torn between the 210 Comp heads and the 227’s.. The cam I’m running will be a hyd roller a little above .600 lift on a 383.. Will the 227’s be TOO much head? Opinions?

The 227's add a lot in cost. You'll need to run shaft rockers. The cam you are running sounds fairly mild if the lift is just over .600". Need to know the duration, but I'm guessing low 240's? The 210's will probably be fine for you.

I would go with 210’s. That size cam isn’t going to spin that 383 high enough where those 227’s will be optimized imo. Tony Mamo is doing a set of AFR Comp port 210’s for me and said my .637 .629 244/254 110+4 LLSR Cam would peak earlier than 6800 rpm. I would think with a 227 you would want something up around 260-270 duration and spin up around 8k on a 383 to be efficient with that head.

Unless you have the cam and computer to spin it, the 210s are a better choice for most people.

I was thinking of going 24x AFTER I already got the cam specd to max out the stock pcm by Llyod for the future 210’s.. I guess I’d just be better off sticking with what I planned already.. Hopefully I can make 450rwhp.. I’d be extremely satisfied with that..

And by me having a street car that cam would probably suck.. I guess I’ll just stick with the original plan.. Your setup is going to be killer and mines will be similar.. Is that cam a solid or hyd?

Comp 210's.....

I run 210's with a 250*/258* SR cam.....

You definitely won't be moving enough air for the 227's.

The LLSR cam is a Low Lash Solid Roller.
