Default Oil pickup loose!!!

After a hard pull my oil pressure dropped... I suspected the pickup tube had fell off. My anger is that this engine has maybe 10k miles on it and I welded It! I need to replace a motor mount so guess I'll just pull the subframe with engine and trans. Hell the clutch doesn't have many miles either but all hard miles. If I drive it it's wide open under boost. Any suggestions? Stock head 12psi p1sc with a hot cam. I'll go ahead and change the cam...

Only drop during high rpm? May not be the pickup. You can check that pretty easily. Could be windage issues. What kind of pan and pump are you running?

Stock pan... I drained the oil, and can see the pick-up through the drain plug. My next concern is do i pull the subframe which i have done. Or try it by lifting the engine...

If you can raise the engine about 4" You should be able to get pan out. Remove oil level sensor before dropping pan.

Auto trans has either a smaller, or different shaped bell housing and raising the engine should give you the clearance you need. If you have a manual you will be hard pressed and may have to lower the k-member as well as raise the engine.

I got it ready to lift the engine and I don't see how theirs going to be enough room on a t56 car as has been stated... Has anyone done this on a t56?

IIRC those who have, had to raise the engine and lower the k-member by loosening the k-member bolts. Then turned the crank to get the counter weights out of the way while pulling on the pan towards the rear of the car.

Ok. I guess I'll try that. If I can keep from pulling the subframe completely our I won't have to remove the plug wires plugs headers ypipe and maybe brake lines... wish me luck
