Default Fuel Injector color question

I may simply be over thinking this, but I had my pcm tuned by Moe Bailey and in the questionnaire thingy you fill out, I put that I had stock injectors, one is plugged now though and whilst perusing new injectors, I see that different colors are different flows, and I don't see any green ones like on my motor... am i missing something? Stock ones appear black in all the pics I am seeing.

Those look like the older style Ford SVO 42# injectors. They could also be some cheapo injectors that are made using the actual or look alike Ford green top injector bodies, unfortunately I've seen this a lot on eBay.

Best bet is to see if you can identify any markings on them. If you take off the connector you may be able to see better.

Those appear to have the correct markings to tie them to a Ford SVO 42# injector body. That doesn't necessarily guarantee what's inside since we don't have any paperwork, etc. from the PO but strong chance you have 42# injectors there. If it were me I'd send them out to be cleaned and flowed so you know for sure. That's a lot of injector for an LT1, does your setup warrant that much fuel?

I know with the LS stuff it's ok to run too much injector since you just scale it back. Not sure if the same can be done with LT1s.

Highly unlikely my setup needs it, only thing I have is lt4 hot cam, 1.6rr and ram horns with dual exhaust and h pipe, it's a swap into a jag, just now got it running but got a cold spot on exhaust manifold, 1 injector not firing, but is pulsing.. my concern right now is if the PO tuned the pcm for larger injectors, and if Moe retuned for stock or left alone assuming no prior changes were made... going to buy 8 new, but need to know which ones.... yet another speed bump in my project!

It's always something! You'd be ok with some stock 24# injectors with a mild setup like yours. It's too bad I just sold a set of Accel 26# injectors for pretty cheap that came of a bolt-on and cammed LT1 car. Like I mentioned, if the injectors can be scaled back in the tune then the ones you have would be fine, would just need Moe to confirm if that can be done. If so, I'd just get them professionally cleaned and flowed if the injectors bodies all look sound and whatnot.

I'm hoping Moe keeps a log of some sort where he can see what he did in my tune... but with my luck he will have just gotten rid of it! Lol Injectors all look to be in great shape, no gaps or cracks, connectors look good, etc, they just sat for 6 months, and when I bought motor the guy had it running and you could smell the bad gas in it!

So now I wait to hear from Moe, thanks for all your help..

Not a problem man. Tuners are often the best people to speak with when it comes to injectors since some injectors are harder to tune in than others given the data available so I'm sure he'll recommend what he thinks is best for ya and you'll be good in no time.
