Default My custom Lt1 intake

Since moving to forced induction I had to make room for the fuel rail AN fittings and move the MAP sensor location. Figured since I didn't need the cross over tube anymore, I would just weld up and rework the plenum opening while I was messing with it. (I am by no means a welder! But can get the job done.) It's not done yet but here's a few pics. I'll update as I go if anyone is interested.

Way more stream line than factory

The fuel rails and fittings clear now and there is still 2 bolts for the throttle cable bracket to mount

Not sure where to put the 3 bar map sensor yet. Maybe the back wall of the plenum by the firewall?

Thread in IAT sensor, relocated 3 bar MAP with clamp, and added bungs to strap the intake together from blowing off. The elbow will get welded to the charge pipe. Plus did more work inside the plenum which I didn't get a pic of. 🙃

I did a custom lt1 intake i did have to stand the injectors up a little bit. Photobucket took all my photos down, but I have them at home still.

That looks very similar to a marine manifold I own that I intend on putting on a large (415) CID engine.

@fex77k you put a TON of work into that thing. It is amazing it started as an Lt1 intake. I am curious what the valley side looks like. I see you eliminated the small Idle holes in the bottom of each port. Did that cause any issues with Idle quality or Idle tuning? Thanks for sharing!

I'll grab some better pictures i have of it. It was expensive at the time i purchased it, 2009ish. It basically had the entire thing massaged and was running on a really trick set of dart pro 1s. I eventually used a victor Jr intake and converted to methanol injection witg a small shot of nitrous to run 8's. It was good for about 580fwhp on the engine dyno.
