Default spark plug wires

I'm looking for a set of msd over the valve cover wires but all the links I'm finding are turning up to lead to nowhere. Anyone know where I can get a set of otvc msd wires? or a part number would help too. I don't really want to be making my own again.

I don't think anyone makes a premade set of OTVC. The MSD with opti ends already installed (you just have to do the spark plug ends) are easier than the other brands where you have to put the opti ends on.

You can try Firecore.

I have no idea if they still do LT1 plug wires. I had some done about 10 years ago and they bitched about the opti plug ends, so they may have stopped doing them.

I ended up going wit a set of oem replacement msd precut wires. Not that my stockers are worn out but the msd box I'm putting on says not to use solid core wires with a msd box so I'm changing them out. I figured over the valve cover would have been easier but whatever I'll just put these on.

those things were brutal to get in on the passenger side. I've never seen a sbc so hard to put wires in.

LOL.. I remember when the 4th gen first came out I saw one on the sales floor, asked to pop the hood and was bewildered on where the hell the distributor and plug wires were.

Removing the coil pack bracket on the passenger side helps tremendously.

It is important to route LT1 plug wires through all factory looms and brackets. I just take the DS off as a complete set with bracket and install new ones on bench that install the assembled 4 wire set at one time

For passenger side I drop starter and remove the 2 bracket sections and pull the wires from opti between block and accessory bracket and assemble new ones on the 2 bracket sections, run opti ends between block and accessory bracket then mount the small rear bracket to block.

Yeah in general a PIA but for me basically doing the whole job from under the car works well. I prefer and use only Magnacore wires, 8.5

dialectic grease is your friend on boot ends.

You can fit 8.5’s in the stock wire clasps on the side of the block and groves next to the opti? I had a hell of a time doing so with 8mm.

yes the Magnacore 8.5's fit in all looms on my car, including the 4 wire ones near opti.

Camaro 85143
Impala 85205

Both are the 8.5 KV85 wire, don't know why different part #.s though.

Aren’t stock wires 7.5mm?

7 I think. But I know my looms that were for over the valve covers said 7-8 mm but 8.5s fit.
