Well, if you're still a newbie, then you should stick to bolt-ons and do the "knowledge mod"- keep reading this site and ask questions. Learn as much as you possibly can. Knowledge is the singlest most important mod you can do while modifying your car.

I second that... do the basic boltons, and you will learn a ton about your car in the process. If you want to do Nitrous make sure you are familiar or have someone that knows what they are doing help you set it up. Ive had a few friends end up with major damage from making small mistakes. I myself won't be running Nitrous, and will seek FI from Turbo/Supercharger applications instead. Thats IF I ever get enough $$ to go that route at all.

im not a newbie to cars just a newbie to the whole posting messages and stuff like that. I wouldnt install this myself. But I was just wondering if that is the best thing to do at this point and time. I was going to put on headers but I want performance quick and that wont add too much horsepower. I want my car to go faster without making any big changes, such as engine mod, or rebuild. A guy told me that nos would be a good way to go.

Just depends, if your unsure about how well your engine is going to handle it, I wouldnt.. especially a 100+ shot. Thats just me though... Headers, CAI, and a good catback, free mods should add 30~50+rwhp. Thats not horrible. Maybe not the ~80rwhp you would get with a 100 shot (what is the approx loss of a shot?) Im not a N20 Guru at all.. so of course I have my doubts/misconceptions.

What kind of experience do you have with cars? For example, say waht kinds of cars have you worked on. I had a V-6 Camaro before my LT1, and learned almost nothing from it. It wasn't until I got my LT1 that I really started learning a lot.

Whether you're a newbie or not, bolt-ons should be the first mods on the car.

Dude...spray it but be safe about it. Start slow and work your way up. Get a fuel pump...the Nitrous company will recommend this. A window switch...so that the nitrous doesnt come on at too low of a rpm, and keep going if you miss a shift etc. Actually if you really want to get something foolproof or close to it....A zex nitrous kit maybe for you. It comes with a controller that reads your fuel pressure, rpms..etc to make sure everything is sano when u wanna feed your ride the gas...and if one thing is outta whack it wont go. May want to look into that. The thing is you could buy Hooker LT's uncoated, 350ish, a Off road y pipe 150ish..depending on whos u go with, port your own throttle body, get a CAI, and even roller rockers and gears and it still with all those things wont make u as fast as the push of the button. Those things will be good to have down the road but if you want some go right now NOS is your friend...use wisely. Start out sprayin 75hp and then move up when u feel comfortable. Also get a friend who knows nitrous or a shop who is good with nitrous to set it up for you and walk you through the whole kit and kaboodle.

I agree with the above post. Work your way up and talk to some people with experience. I personally would feel OK with doing a 125 on a stock bottom. Nitrous is cheap and the hp gain is very substantial.

The nitrous is a great way to make some awesome power. Get a kit from TNT or NX, they are both great. But be safe about it, get a window switch for sure.

I run a 150 shot on my stock bottom ended car and have been for a while now.

I as well am new to this board. I have had quite a bit of nitrous experience. If have been running a nitrous works wet system jetted for the 175 hp. I run a mix of race fuel and 92 octane when i run the nos. To date I have ran about 30 bottles thru my motor. Mind you I am not standing on it for a 1/4 mile. I run this in a buggy at dunes. Obviously supercharged is the way to go but nos is good cheap hp as long as you are careful!

Even if your heart is set on nitrous I would still recommend getting at least a CAI, and a catback. Your going to need to get in more air and expel more exhaust with the addition of nitrous.

If it's NOS (the brand of nitrous) you want, then say NOS........but for god sakes it's nitrous......saying NOS instead of nitrous just sounds so ricer
