No pullies or TB. Pulley's aren't worth it IMO and you don't have a need for a 52mm, 48 flows just fine....and I wouldn't get the elbow either.

Beginning mods are pretty universal....get air in and get it out. CAI & catback to start. The money you just saved by not getting the TB, pullies and elbow you can put towards some headers and get rid of the cats, EGR and AIR. Free mods like TB bypass, etc.

Gears, suspension suspension suspension. Torque converter if it's auto (Midwest has a good converter with great prices).

That's a good start....then aside from getting into the H/C/I and/or bottom end, it's a lot of little things ie. tranny cooler if auto, ignition or coil conversion, etc.

Looks good. I say go ahead and get the 52 mm TB in case you wish to go with some good heads and a cam in the future. And don't forget about headers.

Well not necessarily. The stock 48mm TB flows ~720CFM and the requirements of a stock displacement LT1 is ~500CFM. So unless you're pushing more air in IE boost or increase displacement 383, 396, etc...the stock TB is going to be fine with even a good sized cam.

Here's a good thread on CZ28

Hmm... I always thought the LT1/L98 throttle body was a good upgrade. My buddy also put a pulley on his 93 and it seemed to help a little, as well as the 1le elbow. Oh well, I don't have a LT1, but someone was asking me what I think they should do for some basic boltons.

What do you guys think about the loudmouth vs the 2otl? It was my understanding the 2OTL was a pretty good and popular system, yet the loudmouth will obviously flow better.

And what about everyones favorite TB airfoil? Do they really work?

I like the 2OTL better than the LM. Don't get me wrong the Loudmouth sounds decent but after a while it becomes a little TOO much.

Most catbacks will flow relatively close to each other with the exception of the Borla running open. Mainly it's a sound preference....try and find some sound clips and see what you like. GMMG is one of the best sounding IMO but VERY expensive for a catback.

The airfoils are one of the most overrated and worthless mods you can do. They are designed to promote laminar flow into your intake plenum. Gains of 11 hp have been claimed but I have yet to see a dyno sheet to prove this.

Sounds pretty much like the LS1 stuff then.

I think the loudmouth is a great exhaust if you plan on mild mods and no longtubes. I figured the 2OTL would be a better alternative if you want to go with headers. My buddy has the loudmouth with longtubes and no cats on his 93. It's loud, but not as loud as my buddys 99 ws6 with the same setup. Definitly a different tone than the LS1 for sure.

Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to pass it on.

48 mm will flow enough, but its port is too small for the intake and disrupts the flow causing it to lose a little HP. A 52 mm TB matches the ports on the intake and generally provides better TB response and increased RWHP in the 5-7 range on a mostly stock car. If you decide to go heads and cam in the future, 52mm TB is a valuble mod that i would definately look into. Airfoils are pretty much worthless...you will see more power from descreening the MAF in most cases.
