How Hard To Change Optispark??

As the title says, I think my opti is going out and want to know how hard it is to change it. Are there any tips to do this or should I just leave it to a shop to do. Also, where is the best place to get a new AC delco unit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

its pretty easy. ive done it so much that I can change an opti out in a hour. I would get a haynes manual or something if you have never done it before.

i agree with "slowTA".. its not very hard but if its ur first time i would recommend a chiltons or haynes manual and expect it to b a lil hassle. also, about the replacement unit.. i forgot the site, but some guy from LT1tech knows where to get em cheap (round $300.00). give me a few and i'll try and dig him up

For a new opti go to Jason Cromer @ Samtaylor Caddilac. Parts@samtaylor.com or look on the website for the phone number.

Very easy to swap out, although I find the claim of a complete swap in an hour to be a little much. Maybe get the old one out in an hour, but not a full swap.

The ONLY things you need to remove are the air intake, water pump, crank hub, and opti. And drain the radiator. Easy job!
