Default Just got a 95z for $4500

Bought it from a friend who has all paper work on new motor and clutch. Car is a 95Z28 6sp hardtop, cloth interior, pwr door locks, and cruise control. Came w/ stock rims and centerline convo pros. It has B&M ripper shifter and has 123k miles on the body.It had a jasper LT1 engine rebuild w/ at 110k miles along w/ Spec 2 clutch w/ alum flywheel. Has hedders, ory, and flowmaster catback. Cold air induction w/ K&n, tb airfoil, sfc's and Lakewood lca's. Also came w/ 4.10 gears but never installed. I know its made 3 passes at a track in Maryland( i was there & have video) w/ a 2 passes in the 13.20s@107mph & a best of 13.1@108mph using 15x4in skinnes and 15x10in rims in back on BFG 275/60 Drag radials but he was only getting 2.20 60fts cuz he never dropped the tire pressure below 28psi and it was his first time running the car at the track. They didnt let him make anymore passes cuz he didnt have a helmut. I know its got mid 12s in it. How much HP do you think it has judging by the trap speed of 108mph 350hp at the flywheel? Do you think i got a good deal? Car runs great, only problem is the clearcoat and paint are starting to come off the top roof.

Its a decent deal considering the rebuild is recent. Thats a pretty good time, was the rebuild completely stock? Yeah it sounds like it has around 300-310rwhp or more.

Not completly, supposed they gave the heads a 3 angle valve job and did did a slight bore to a 355ci and a few other lil things. I wont know for sure until i see the list from what jasper did to it. My buddys bringing me the car Fri night. I figured the car would be worth at least$6000-$6500 but no one in Tennesse ( where he lives) was wanting it. I told him if it got down to $4500 that id get it.

wow, that's a good deal. I bought mine here in maryland from a wholeseller. I got it for $4800. 97 formula loaded (no t-tops or leather) came with cd player, power everything. It only had 87k on it.

now my new deal is like yours, friend owns the car and I'm buying it for $7000. It's a 98 ls1 camaro that runs 11.7/11.8s N/A, all bolt ons and I think there's a cam done too. It's going to be illegal here because it doesn't have cats. We shall see once I look at it. It's only got 80k on it.

As for your orginal question, I'd say 340ish to the wheels. What track did you run at? Maybe I can meet you up there one weekend.

Thumbs up

The trap speed tells me he has 340ish horsepower.

The car just got here today and from the looks of it, it was a great deal. I took it out for a lil spin but couldnt really do much since i was in this tight *** back brace. the track ww were at was Mason-Dixon in Maryland but he doesnt live there anymore, now in Tennesse. He just drove the car down to me today.

you think 4.10s and sticky tires will get me a solid mid-12 second pass judging by the trap speed of 108mph?

it's going to be close. Real close, but in this cold air, I can't see why not.

How much power do you think i would gain by replacing the BBK shortie hedders(i hear they arent that great) w/ 2.5in ory and upgrading to some Hooker 1 3/4 LTs w/ 3in ory, cut-out, and a full dyno tune?
Could low 12s be possible then w/ sticky DRs, the 4.10s, under the right conditions. I got a torque arm to put on it & it already has SFC's and LCA's suspension wise.

Anyone got any ideas? Im kinda new to the LT1 scene so i dunno how well they respond to mods. Also, anyone runnig the pacesetter LTs from TSP on an LT1. Im guessing w/ the full exhaust it has now it'd run mid 13s since the 13.1@108mph run it made before in maryland was with open hedders. I d really like to get low12s out of her if i can w/ just bolt-ons.
