Default What Should I Do??

Well I put a 95 LT1 in my 88 chevy truck... It has little stuff done to it like Street and Performance wiring harness, Chip, Mass Air Flow sensor ported and screens were removed, and cold air intake. I think that is it but I am not sure, that is what I have been told from who I bought it from. What are some pretty in expensive modifications I can do? I am talking about $500 and less for each item Thanks

Bigger TB 52-58 mm $300-400
Hand Polish your Intake and heads - New gaskets $100-150
Headers-- Lots of choices
Rocker arms 1.6 to get that extra lift..

But with that all said. You get what you pay for. These mods will only keep you happy for a short time. Then you will hunger more!!

IMO Id say headers would be your biggest gain for the buck!

throttle body is not needed and really not a proven mod especially for the money they cost new

its just a big ole airpump, get the air in and get it out as quick and unrestricted as possible

free flowing intake, headers, free flowing catback, then after stuff like that (which are considered basic/standard modifications) open it up and install a new cam, timing set, roller rockers, dyno tune etc. etc.
really depends on what you want out of it....

I would say a CC305 or similiar. I wouldn't recommend a cc306 or gm847 or a big cam because you need some torque to get all that truck moving. You will also need valve springs too. That with the 1.6rr's would provide a big boost for ya.

Oh a stall would go well too....not sure what kind of tranny you have but I'm assuming you have a 4l60e to go with your swap. Throw a 3000+ stall in there. IMO anything under that is kinda useless....cuz you are just going to want to go bigger!!! BTW- LT1's love spray!

To beat a modded lightning you are gonna need more then $500 worth of stuff. Your best bet would be nitrous. Just don't tell him you have it

Definitely a torque converter.

Any other requirments you have of the truck, a little towing or anything or is it just a toy, daily driver? These Camaro guys like BIG cams there are some "milder" cams that will perform quite well and sound wise will pass for stock. The MAF is not helping you and just makes your tuners job harder consider using a stock one. If your usage is as a toy and includes at most light towing then a stall like a 2800or higher Edge, Vig , or Yank would be a great mod. I have a 2800 Edge in My Caprice and tow a little, it is fine even when I had 2.93, even better with the 3.42s, gears should be on your list if they are anything numerically lower than 3.42. Last time I went to the track a friend of a friend had a 2002 Lightening he ran just a tenth or two faster than me the highlights of my mods are a ZZ3 cam(VERY mild compared to what these guys are talking about) the Edge 2800, and 3.42s, the handicaps are stock exhaust manifolds and 87 octane tuning. We were both on street tires, my 60s were better even though I had traction troubles and he did not, was a good bit quicker for the whole 1/8th after that the boost he had made his HP enough to make him faster than my lowend torque made me. My car is probably a little heavier than your truck and will 60ft. better(b-bodies hook pretty well compared to most other vehicles), a set of headers and I would have walked away from him. Another friend with an Impala stock engine, 3K stall Edge, 3.73s, shorties, 93 octane, some lightening for a race weight of probably 4200lbs. and sticky tires was faster than the lightening all day.
