I'm not sure if any of you guys have seen this over here or if it's a repost (sorry if it is) but have you guys seen the finished project of the first ever (well to my knowledge) twin screw blower setup for the LT1?
MPE Racing Fab. out of NJ designed this, and so far everything's looking good. I believe the shortblock he's using has 235,000 miles on it. If you look closely you can see where the blower came from.
From the looks of it it doens't look like it will fit on the f-body to easily.

He is just using the DFI to figure out the tuning then he will set things up for the stock pcm, the DFI is just easier to tune at first and lets him get the baseline more easily. I also believe Matt understated the milage think it is more like 250K.
8kickassrs9 roots blowers are better(more efficient) than centifugal, just harder to package, turbos are a step up yet, centrifugals are more popular and more available because they are easier to package.

Not trying to take away from the setup what-so-ever but its not the first. Alvin from PCMforLess did it on one of his personal cars, which just so happens to be an f-body. He actually sold the setup a while back if Im not mistaken.
Here are some pics of his setup.

I've been waiting to see a roots/twinscrew type blower become more common on the LT1.. recently I started thinking that the Gen-II platform was a little to outdated for anybody to consider really getting into a setup like this.
Needless to say, I'd still rather have a turbo than a twin screw blower.

I knew of Alvin's setup wasn't aware he ever offered it for sale though. As far as someone offering new products this is a speed shop specializing in g-bodies, the Impala was his wife's daily driver till this project. He has also offered a TT setup and built a pretty wild TT 383 for one of the Impala guys in NJ I believe it runs about 18psi on pump gas. Don't think they have any real times out of it yet, cage issues(like lack of one) and some odd breakage like shearing a cam. I have talked to the owner and he was not looking for a track queen but rather a driver so he has not prioritize the track times. It is one of those cases where everyone who has not seen the car wants times not excuses and everyone that has seen it and ridden in it can't say enough good. Maybe the best part is they got the TT setup with intercooler under the stock hood.

Interesting to see another roots blower on our infamous LT(x). I know Alvin was using a M90 Eaton blower on his set up which he sold just recently. I'm not sure if he's starting from scartch on another blower project but he was posting 450 RWHP when it was running solid. It looked alittle rough but with some minor modifications it can be done. Keep us updated with your set-up...........good luck.

I think it would be easier to modify this setup to fit than either of those two setups...especially in a b-body. The rear entry would be a bit of problem for f-bodies. Intercooled too.

Looks like an M90 and I do believe they may have come on some Thunderbirds. Air distribution to the rear cylinders in that photo looks pretty sketchy.

The blower he used is off a Ford Lighting. (M112 right?)
