Lloyd Elliots LE3 on 350 w/ stock bottom end?
Was wondering how the LE3 heads and cam package would work on a stock bottom end of the LT1. Anyone do this? With all the mods that have to go with it (Headers, its a 6 speed, ported intake, 58mm TB, ect. ect.) do you think i will get the gains, or something close to the gains, on his web page for that package?
I was going to do a 383 or 396 with this setup, but don't think i will have the money for it. So what i think i want to do is try for this setup on the stock bottom end and then re-do it to a 383/396 when i get the $$$.
In your opinion, would it be worth it? Oh yea, and i'll be on a 12 bolt and tires this spring.
Thanks in advance.

Ya I'd have to totally agree with him. I was spinning mine to 6300 on HP and 6800 on the spray all year so it should be good, and i was already at almots 75,000 when i started

How long have you been spinning your motors that high for? How many miles on the car? I know nothing is safe when it comes to adding more power and taking it down the track, but i just don't want to do something wehre its almost garunteed to throw a rod or something.
Thanks again. keep em coming.

Been spinning mine up there for about the past 10k miles and at least 50 passes at the drag strip and I don't even want to think how many street passes. The engine has 68k miles on it.

lloyd has a website? could you post it please? thanks.
i think youve got a good idea with doing the heads cam now then stroking it later. you dont have to run the engine to that high or an rpm, but you wont be getting the full benefit from the package. so thats up to you. go for it, i think youll enjoy it

Buddy of mine had LE2 heads, a GM 847, and the supporting boltons and put down 411whp@6000rpm on a stock 130k mile bottom end. He couldnt rev it past 6k though because his valves were floating or his ignition was screwed up.

That's a simple fix though, either put in a stronger spring or figure out whats wrong with the ignition, nothin bottom end wise stopping him from spinning that high

Well i think i'm going to go ahead and do it that way. Everyone made good points and i don't think there was anyone that said not to.
Differant topic... does anyone know if lloyd does intake manifold work? If not, where i a good place to get it bored out to fit a 58mm TB and do the runners?
Anyone have an AS&M 58mm TB? I was thinking about getting one when i do this. Link Is there a better one?
Thanks again!
