You can hit 11s with an LT4 Hotcam set up. Here is one example

Look at his mods though. 11.45:1 compression, trans brake etc. I would just upgrade to something a little bigger.

I didn't have the hotcam, but I ran a 220/226 from Joe Overton and LE heads and ran times in sig on stock bottem end in 2350DA. Small cams can run good IF setup correctly.

the hotcam acts just like a stock cam on the street only difference is a very slightly choppy idle, and more power, other than that its great...
porting my heads, well I just looked on the internet and saw what others had done and tried to copy, made the port taller and opened it to a felpro 1206 SBC intake gasket port, smoothed the inside wall for better transition, ground on the valve guide bosses and airfoil shaped them, and had a 3 angle race valve job done at houston engine and ballencing where I used to work, pics of the heads are on my cardomain site in signature

Unless you plan on a very mild port job (gasket match, bowl work) or are an expert TIG welder, I would HIGHLY not recommend it, the LT1 heads are incredibly thin and I ported through in two spots, luckily only by the pushrods, and my dad is an awsome tig welder so he welded the holes shut, and I ground the weld back, but if you port into the water jacket you're f*cked and it will take about 40 hours or more to Really port a set of heads Im just happy mine turned out so well it was about 70% skill 30% luck.

Sorry, i just read that you had a t-brake in the other thread. Anyways, your car runs amazingly well for what it has, and i would not be expecting that out of everyone running similar. To answer your question i would go with something bigger than a hot cam, maybe a 230/236 or something like that.

Sure in a light car that hooks very hard, look at FrankBs car, not a hot cam but a tiny cam on stock heads.

I run the Hot Cam in My Vette w/ Ported heads, small stall and boltons. I run high 12s running with the stock 2.59 rear end, stock tires, with traction control on cutting 2.0 second 60'. With just 3.55 gears and some slicks I am mid to low 12s easy at a horrible track (Atlanta Dragway). I see high 11s from the right setup at the right track easy.

Boltons lets see.. Hooker Long tubes, !AIR, !EGR, !Stock Air filter box, TB coolant bypass, K&N Filter, home ported MAF..... I think thats about it, the only one worth a damn is really the Headers, for exhaust I just bolted on some 3" Chinese no name mufflers that flow like a son of a gun and dont change the sound of the car at all, just quiets it, I love 'em.
