Default 95 auto vert T/A?? worth modding??

i have a 95 convertable automatic trans am and i was wondering if it is really worth the time and money building it or if i should go get an ls1 car. i am really not looking for anything super fast maybe some low 12's high 11's. what does everyone think????

that's what im sootin for, high 11's. i know a guy runnin 11.73 in a full weight 97 vert through an m6. he's got full boltons, afr 195 heads, and a jo cam, stock bottom end. you could get there quicker and less money for the upgrades with an ls1 but the initial cost of the ls1 is gonna run ya.

Depending on your budget, either is a good choice. both have many pros/cons
1. opti vs. coil pack
2. more hp to start with (LS1)
3. LS1 respond better to mods
4. LS1 more costly to build
5. LT1 iron block (heavier)
6. LS1 has more programming alternatives
7. LT1 holds N2O better plus you can run ignition box for timing retard rev limiter, etc.

I would keep it IMHO
