Default O2 problems

Okay my pass 02 has been reading funny so i go to check it out and i can see it got burned on my headers. Not completly just burned the rubber off. Its in the area between the headers and fender well. So anyway i pull out the 02 harness from up top and i cut what is burned. I solder it back together and put some of that heat shrink stuff on it(lil rubber tubes). I know for a fact i did not get any wires mixed. I did them one by one. Now my 02 is only reading 003. Before this it read around .100 to 200millivolts. oh this is the wire comeing out the PCM. I also sprayed electrical cleaner from NAPA on the wires i cut and on the connectors. This is everything i did. Anyone have an idea of wat could be wrong? Did the wires that were burned touching each other short out the O2??

Just buy a new O2 sensor and solve the problem.

Dude, no offense, but you just answered your own question about whether or not it was the O2 that was the problem. Go to the store and get another one... hell get two since you might as well replace the other one too while you're down there.

Okay i see wat you all are saying. Thing is before anything major happened the 02 worked. Wires got burned i started getting weird numbers. Put wires together and now i get .003. I always thought if an 02 went bad it would show .445 or somewhere around that. Im jsut worried that maybe the wires are bad and i dont wanna buy a new 02 if thats not the problem. Ill just put the one that works on the pass side and go from there. Amongst all this i didnt even think about that till a friend of mine brought it up.

Also, just FYI, O2 sensors do not show a set voltage. They fluctuate back and forth between .100 and .900 as the cat cycles lean and rich. If you have the car running and you are checking the voltage on the sensor and you are seing it stay at one value then it's probably screwed.

They got burned on my headers on the passenger side. The bundle of wires that come from the computer down the fender well right at the end it came apart and my 02 wires touched. I was lazy and didnt switch them around yet. I just unplugged them and made my way to the track on friday. Ran a 13.3@105, which was a best for me.
Ya i know the readings fluctuate, thats why i got worried when it stayed at .003. As soon as i become unlazy ill post up wat happened.

Ok, why were your PCM wires so close to the headers? They are supposed to run up over the shock tower.

okay u know how they run down? it didnt burn up top. Its at the end where the wires split up. the wire loom frayed apart and got loosened up. So the 02 wire just got real hot from the header i guess. They didnt burn completly it just burned the rubber coating and the wires started touching. Could it be my motor mount is weak and leaning to close to the fender well? Is that even possible?
