Default MSD 6AL - car wont run with it! 93-95 coil

today I put on my MSD 6AL the instructions were Easy as hell to understand and to hook it up, the hardest part of the whole deal was mounting the box it was so Easy, at least I thought... Untill I tried to start the car, Nothing! I unhook the harness and plug the stock harness back up to the blaster coil, runs fine, I go back, put power to power, ground to ground, match colors on the harness, plug the stock harness into the MSD harness, and the MSD harness onto the right side of the coil (I have a dual connector 93-95 coil) and it still dont run!

Why does the MSD harness only plug into the right half of the coil, while there is nothing there for the left side? Is it supposed to be like that? do I need to splice into the coil wires from the MSD clip in harness and give those same two wires to the other side of the coil? I didnt get to mess with it much, I drove to houston 8 hours, played with my new parts for an hour, worked on the car for 30 mins, and it was dark outside so I couldnt do too much trouble shooting.

For what its worth....I installed a MSD-6A on my 97 Z. I do remember something about the wiring being different because i remember i sat and thought about it for a while. If you have the manual from MSD (u prolly dont since ur asking) but it has the diagrams in it. I just went to www.msdignitions.com and i found a whole bunch in .pdf - (Hope it helped)Good Luck, Dave

this is the description for use on a dual connector coil

NOTE: Cut and splice the two pink wires (coil
positive) together and connect to orange
wire of MSD. Cut and splice the two white
wires (coil negative) together and
connect to the white of MSD. If the vehicle
is not equipped with a factory tach, there
will only be one white wire.
NOTE: MSD offers a direct plug in harness,
PN 8876, for this coil.

Guess so, was on the horn with MSD for 45 minutes, we couldnt figure it out.

Sent the box back for repair, I hope its busted, I really want an MSD to work on my car for my nitrous, so I can get a ignition cutoff at 6800, instead of FUEL CUTOFF!

I wired mine in by cutting the wires from the control module and connecting them to the input side, and joining both coil connector plugs to the output side. Hope this helps
