Default Pacesetter LT's (pics)

Hey, Just got my LT's that I ordered from redline performance engineering a week ago. They have great customer service and the headers came quick. The headers look good, here are a few pics for anyone considering purchasing them. I'm lookin forward to installing these . Can anyone give me some tips, also should I use the bolts/gaskets they sent me or buy some copper gaskets? Thanks

I've been using the gaskets they sent with mine for about 6 months, no leaks whatsoever. Just make sure everything is clean and check the header bolts a few times after you run them, they will come loose til everything gets seated in.

I just helped throw a set of these on a 1995 camaro last night. They fit very well and truthfully I like the routing of them a little better than my Jet Hots. They seem to be wider than the Jethots which eliminates the problem of hitting the cross member (I still need to look under mine to compare).

The coated ones are $375.99, and uncoated are $275.99 ( I think). For the price I think its a good deal. All the other coated LT's are $500+, and the flanges on these are almost twice as thick as those on the hookers.

I am installing my pacesetter longtubes tomorrow.......cant wait! I was pretty impressed with the overall quality of them, and my friend already has a set installed and he is happy with em. I am gonna install them from the top by removing the alternator and the valve covers.

I have the drag race (no emissions) headers though and I have heard that hooking up the emissions to these headers can be a bit of a pain in the ***.

oh yea, and dont use the gaskets and bolts they come with, get some felpro 1406's and get some arp 1 inch 12 point header bolts or breslin locking header bolts if you wanna spend the money. Other things will need is o2 extensions, probably new o2 sensors after a month of driving with em on, new plugs and wires is a good thing, and a 12 pack of beer.

Just don't use copper gaskets whatever you do, they suck. I had them and changed to the paper ones that came with my MAC headers within 2 weeks.

Pacesetter sends a roll of wire to cut and extend the O2 sensor wires, it would probably be best to solder the connections. That's what I used and have had no problem. The bolts and gaskets they send are fine too, been running mine for 6 months now no problems. You have to re-tighten them after they heat up and cool down a few times, as with most any header bolt. As far as getting new O2s, dont really see the need if yers are fine. Mine were the original 147,000 mile O2s and I ran them in the headers for about 5 months before I decided to change them due to the mileage. Put the new ones in and saw no difference whatsoever, and I've logged quite a bit of data before and after the new O2s. No need to buy stuff you don't need.

i JUST changed my O2 sensors.. i had no idea they were so pricey.. but yeah.. my old ones were beat up pretty well.. not to mention THEY WERE A P.I.T TO GET TO!..

what are your thoughts on non-coated headers?.. should i just spend a bit more and get coated?..

I already bought the O2 extensions (50 bux), when I finally got the headers i saw the kit pacesetter sends you to extend the wires to the 02 . I also have new plugs and wires. I'm going to buy some fel pro gaskets this week, and I'm having a y pipe made with a cat. I think that should be about it, oh and I'm going to let the O2 sensors go for now, and if they go bad I'll buy new ones. Anything I'm forgetting, should I also buy an LT4 KM, what about a OVC wire kit?

You my friend, are an idiot. There is nothing at all wrong with those welds. There is a little bit of jumping between the 2 center tubes, but i would like to see you get a solid bead in there without any. Those are sound welds, the welds on my pacesetters are nicer than the welds on my mac mids i took off to make room for the lts.

You get what you pay for... And yes it does in fact look like someone quickly welded the O2 bung in.

Here you can see the welds on my headers... Ooops wait, you cant!

KM wouldn't be a bad idea, neither would an ovc kit. You'll more than likely burn up number 6 plug wire if you route them back like factory, there was no way I could get that factory wire off the header.

Saad06, mine are uncoated and I couldn't be happier with them. I dropped .4 and picked up 4 mph in the 1/8 with LTs, duals and slicks. I did have to bend the drivers side collector down a lil bit for clearance but that wasn't anything major. At the price the uncoated ones are though I would get them, I don't think they were that cheap when I got mine.
