it slides right in. yes it will leak. try some exhaust sealant on the outside of the slip tube so the sealant goes inside the main header portion.

#1 is a slip tube? If so there should be a clamp with it. I didn't clamp the one on my MAC headers and it's surprisingly not leaking.

a clamp wont work because you cant get enough force on the pipe to seal it. rough it lightly with some sandpaper and put some ultra copper on it. i LOVE my jet hots!

Mine leaks a tiny bit. It doesnt bother me at all. My intake is MUCH louder than my exhaust leak, hell even my exhaust at idle. It will work just fine. There is NOT supposed to be a clamp there. There would be no where to put the clamp either because the steering linkage is in the way. They are awesome headers though.

I like the build quality of my Jet Hots but don't like that they are so tight against the car (have some banging issues). If I had to do it again, I would go with Pacesetters. PS's allow for a little more clearance space under the car and don't have a slip-tube design.

Alright i finally got my intake back on after fixing the oil leak, and i got the manifold off. now time to put in the jet hots. hopefully they turn out better than 12seconddream or ill prolly torch my car after all this work. anyways, did you guys put them in from the top or the bottom, and which side did you have to jack the motor up for?

thanks

They go on from the bottom. I didnt have to jack up either side of the motor. It all depends on how well your car was assembled. Some have to jack up both sides of the motor and remove the K-member. I just jacked up the car about 22 inches from the K member and both sides slid right in.

Here is a step-by-step install guide of a worst case scenerio.

My #1 primary doesn't leak. I have LOTS of banging under the driver side though: the y pipe hits the floor pan cuz the header exits kind of high. I thought maybe it was manufacturing tolerances so I got my headers swapped out w/ a new set from Jet-Hot and put in brand new polyurethane motor mounts but am having the same problem. This is my second set of headers (I am one of the ones who had to jack up both sides of the motor, so putting in 2 sets wasn't exactly what i'd like to call a good time), and it's frustrating the hell outta me. How many others have this problem?
