Default Those of you with Forged Pistons Get in here

So how loud is your piston slap... After thinking my damn motor has all these probs with this knock I cant find.. I have come to the conclusion that it is probably piston slap so how Fing loud is it because mine sounds like a valve hitting a piston but it isnt the problem

Sounds like a bearing. Did you just rebuild the motor?

IF the pistons were not measured correctly they will be loud. this is more common then you might think

I've got Diamond Ultra-Lite forged pistons, motor was built by AP Engineering. I get some pretty loud piston slap on a cold start up, but it quiets down after warming up.

These are what i have too.. the weird thing is that I only hear it when it runs not when its cranking

Aluminum pistons expand when they warm up, Sometimes you will hear them "knocking" until they are fully expanded to the cylinder... Happens alot on the LS1 cars

94 yeah i have heard it on ls1's and seen the oil consumption issues also.

that's what i was going to say, thats what everyone told me when i told them i'm getting forged pistons.
