Default Dyno Numbers

Dynoed my car on a Mustang Dyno today. Made about 15 pulls. HP 372.6 Torque 364.1 The car hit a peak of 385 HP on a few pulls, but it was for only about 100 rpm. The 372 HP ran from about 5,200 to 6,200 rpms. All runs were made on Nitto DRs. I thought these were pretty good numbers for a LT1 with a hotcam. These are corrected numbers.

I presume you have some mild head work?
Those are great numbers.
Who tuned the car?

These are corrected numbers. I have Stage I ported stock valve heads, SLP mids, 9" with 4.11s and every bolt-on you can think of. My car was tuned by a guy named Dave Smith, he also ported the heads, converted my car to massair and installed my 6 spd. If my car did not float the valves over 6,200 it would of put up even better numbers. I ordered new springs today from Pace Parts.

Those are exellent numbers with a hot cam and stage 1 heads. Are you going to dyno again after you install the new springs?

Yes, I will dyno it again after the new springs are on. I will actually go race it for a while and log some data before I go to the dyno again. I will have new LT4 springs put on again in the next few weeks.

After this racing season I am going to a 383, so I don't want to put too much more money in this motor.

I don't really want to spin the motor much more then mid 6s because the opti will take a crap!

Congrats on your car (Mark). I was pleased with the results with only my mild stage1 heads and cold cam. Especially on a Mustang Dyno through a 9inch ! Should have no problem making some 11sec passes with that power!

Those are good numbers with the Hot cam! Mine made 380/363 with an auto
tranny. I am also trying for 11's. So far I've hit 12.2@111, so I am close. Good luck to you.

lt1Dave,
I apprciate all the time you spent on my car at the dyno! After the tuning the car is a whole different animal, as long as you stay under 6k. That will change after it goes to your shop for some new springs!

Rare96ws6,
What else have you done to your car?? Do you live close to Cincinnati? If you do, I'd like to check your car out sometime. I hope you get your 11 sec pass.

I live in Texas, so not so close. I have the Hot cam, ported heads, AS&M shorty headers, Borla catback and a great tune by Ed Wright. I dynoed before the converts so that I would have acurate numbers.
Yeah, I hope I get an 11 second pass also. A few years ago I ran 11's with spray, but now I am trying to duplicate that on motor. I might be tough though, since I run my car the way I bring it. I keep the stock tires on, etc. I like the stock, untouched look.

What mods do you have?

Hotcam, stage I ported stock heads with stock valves, SLP mids, every bolton you can think of, massair conversion, Tune by Dave Smith, and a 9" with 4.11s. I want an 11 second time slip before I go to a 383, big heads, big cam and get rid of the opti.

You are at 12.4 with the good set up that you have. If you can not get any more out if it the way it sits, you can always do some weight reduction. It really makes a difference when you can take it out of the front end, but any weight removed will help. There are huge threads on here about this topic. Check it out. I bet if you can take some off you may hit 11's with your set up.
You could also ice down your intake between runs, adjust tire pressure until you get the best launch. There are many things you can still try to get that 11 second slip. Good luck with it. I hope you reach your goal!
