Damn so yeah lets face the obvious and just stick it right out there for once!

Cambered exhaust is king and always has been. I mean think about a 69 z with cambered exhausted. That car was one of the gods.

So the real question is what chambered set up are you going to chose from.

The only to direct bolts I know of is. The gmmg or the stainless steel works kit. that summitracing sells.

Which one is best and what other designs and I ideas are there?

I tell you this I wish I went cambered and I think I am going too.
either that or a electronic cut out.

Those clips on ls1sounds.com with the cut-outs and cam still make my mouth water.

Exhaust is all about what you want out of it and what you can afford. Gmmg is great but if you want chambered I say make your own like I plan on doing.

X-pipe with chambers All the way!

Bone stock. Electric cutout(open obviously).

The video kinda distorts it a bit, its a lot more "crisp" in person. Sounds good at idle, and AMAZING at WOT considering nothing else is done.

Both of the videos above are on my 97Z-28 (pacesetter longtubes, and ory)

My vote is for the corsa. i really like how it sounds. real quiet at idle and starts to open up when u get on it, and the tips look amazing!! the loudmouth was just plain loud, from idle all the way to redline. i found myself being threatened by my neighborhood police officers all the time after the headers and ory. i do love the sound of the borla though. and the gmmg i think is loud but it sounds good doing it. now what im going to buy, is a cutout/with electric motor for when i want to be obnoxious and when i want to have a conversation its quiet at the flip of a switch.

My neighbor complains when I have my cutout closed into a Random Tech cat back system..Some people just need to STFU.

i'm a corsa fan - i have the corsa indy's on my 99 vette - we have a guy in our local group that has the corsa cat back on his LT1 92 vette and man does it sound neat - very reminiscent of the C5 corvette "tone" but still a tone all its own!

I just got my LT's and ORY on and with my Flowmaster 80 series and IMO its the best Ive ever heard on an LT1. Freaken loud as hell but real deep and just like a 60's muscle car.

GMMG is the name of the company. IMO they make like the best catbacks for LT1's and LS1's. Here is the link to there website which is one of the only places that sells GMMG catbacks.http://www.gmmginc.net/html/chamberedexhaust.html

I just got a set of long tubes and also the LM, and plan on doing the install with some friends. How hard will it be and how long should it take?

Just one word of advise....PB Blaster the manifold, and y-pipe bolts the night before, applying several coats. If I were you...I would try to loosen most of the manifold bolts the night before you actually want to start working on it. A breaker bar will def. help with the y-pipe bolts.

It should take 6+ hours depending on how fast you move, and how efficiently. It took my dad and I 3 weeks to do it, 1 reason being we didn't have all the time in the world.

I posted on this thread about a year ago when I got my GMMG on saying how great it was. Well about a month ago I added Pacesetter LT's with an ORY. At first I was really skeptical about the sound because I didn't want any rasp or drone. If I had to go back and do it again...................I would do it exactly as I did. WOW. Thats all I can say. The car is a little more quieter at idle and there is no drone or rasp since it is straight through with no cats. At WOT its a completely different story. When I stomp on the GO pedal, the earth quakes, old people and children run as if someone just opened the gates of hell, birds fly away, windows start rattling and everyone looks my way. It is amazing how defined and throaty it sounds without being too raspy or nasty sounding. I LOVE IT!!!!!

interesting way to put it but I agree. I have Borla myself and in stock form with a big cam I loved it but I like how good GMMG sounds without CATs on a stock cammed LT1, it has that old school muscle car rumble.

gmmg and headers is going to be loud and agressive, but alot of people LOVE that set up. i think it actually sounds pretty good myself. y would you even think about using your stock y pipe? restrictive!!! get a good set of headers and the matching y pipe with cats.
