I've got a flowmaster catback that came on the car when I got it. Sounds good at idle, a bit raspy under throttle.

Borla, GMMG, Loudmouth...most all of them sound good when you add a cam with LTs and no CATs, a decent cam makes a world of difference on the sound much less performance. I almost sold my Borla after installing LTs w/no CATs, raspy sounding POS, then I added the big cam and loved it....till it grenaded

Yah the engines you love have a tendency to do that and the ones you hate just never seem to blow up.

Just tossed the flowmaster and installed a carsound cat and GMMG catback and holy crap a day and night difference. The GMMG is wayyyyy more deeper and throatier and even with the cat one its as loud as it was with no cats and flowmaster. Everyone I know says how much better and how amazing it sounds. GMMG is worth every penny and is by far the best sounding exhaust period for an LT1.
EDIT: today I passed a beautiful '02 Trans Am WS-6 and made the dudes jaw drop with the sound of the car! GMMG!!!

I have SLP Loudmouth on my LT1 WS.6 Greatest sound ever, In my opinion. Once I get my new camera I plan on making a video of it...to get that wonderful sound. Loudmouth sounds more like a muscle car, and EVERYONE in this town LOOOOOOVES the way it sounds.

Just my 2 cents.

ok just a quick question, on my vette (lt1) i have an x-pipe with cut-outs right after into magnaflow mufflers, the mufflers are quite as hell but the cut-outs give me some grunt. im looking at getting l/t with no cats, but here is the dillema ive heard good thing from guys with sweet thunder so would an h-pipe with sweet thunders sound better, or keep with the straigh through magnaflows? just want peoples 2cents

always liked the Sweet Thunder, GMMG sounds a little deeper IMO, but I think it would sound great on your vette, especially if you cam that puppy, might be a little raspy with LTs & no CATs if it's still stocked cammed.

.....I voted for Flowmaster because that's what I have & I haven't really heard any others. I like the way it sounds, it was priced right but I've read that it has the worst record for increased performance..... Not to high jack your thread but, What is the GMMC one??? I've never heard of that one. Thanks, bill
