I have installed magnaflow and hooker and was disappointed in both as far a sound--both were quality, easy to install systems though. No bark, quiet idle, not much louder than stock throughout the rpm range and the magnaflow had some drone. For my car I am still undecided--may just pull the trigger and get GMMG. Although I have yet to hear a loudmouth in person--I may like it. Hell, both cars I've worked on we fired them up with just the cats on and they were not that loud--so i'm thinkin a loudmouth would be just a little quieter than straight cats. All I know is the Hooker and magnaflow were disappointments--hell the flowmaster on my old '88 Iroc sounded better than them. LOL!

I got GMMG on mine with LT's and a Cat after the Y and the SOB is loud! Its actually louder with the GMMG and Cat than it was with no cats and my old Flowmaster catback. I got a video of it in my sig and 2 videos in the link to my cardomain if you want to hear it to get an idea.

How can someone say that magnaflow is quiet and has no bark? Yes, it is quiet at idle and when cruising, but that's it. Under revving or heavy acceleration it is a beast. It sounds so deep and muscular it's ridiculous.

The point of getting a loud exhaust is so you can hear your motor with little effort.
Under hard acceleration any V-8 sounds ok.
I heard a magnaflow on 99 LS1, and it sounded good, but IMO my Loudmouth is WAY more throaty and full sounding.

Thats your opinion. ( not picking on you )
No one has the best looking exhaust because its all personal preference, just like no one has the best color.

This sounds the best hands down (Magnaflow).... then again, replacing the catback with a GMMG would sound even better, but for price and flow charts, this is the best bang for your buck.... I spent around 1500-1800 on my flp's with everything needed for the install and its a great system, but very pricy... so for headers, i suggest jet hots, and for catback i suggest magnaflow or gmmg

BTW, im sure you all know already, and i didnt take the time to read each reply, but the loudmouth with longtubes and no cats sounds nasty... however, loudmouth on a stock car sounds absolutely amazing

it does sound nasty, especially with a built engine. the idle is mean and thats it. any kind of rpms makes it sound terrible. I hated mine.

I traded for a hooker now. pacesetter LTs, ORY, and hooker catback. I LOVE the sound. its quiet in the interior but sounds good. from the outside its louder than my car was stock with just a flowmaster muffler but has a great tone.

I must be gettin olde cause I like the quiet(er) sound with great tone over the loud BLEHHAAHHA sound of the loudmouth.

how much does adding a bullet muffler to Longtube, ypipe, loudmouth set up reduce the rasp? I just got my headers put in and it is a little on the obnoxious side...

I love my LM. I like GMMG a little bit better but LM is the next best thing for me, and I love the way it sounds on my car. (And so does EVERYONE else around here. They say I have the best sounding car in my town) I still have my cats and stock manifolds though, I have no popping at all from it. I was looking around on ls1sounds at this car with 'sweet thunder' true duals...oh my gawd. That thing sounded so freaking awesome...I had to watch the video 3 times

Out of all the one's I've heard...I really like the nice mellow, deep sound of the Magnaflow. I had Flowmaster's on my '95 and it sounded horrible IMO. I bought the car with it on there BTW. Borla is just too loud and expensive. Some of the other's are pretty good, so it's a matter of picking what your ears like to hear.

Paid 285 shipped, I think it is a great deal for a stainless exhaust. Thought about Hooker since it is the same price and also sounds great (had it on my old IROC), but I wanted the stainless.

Hey.... How in the hell did you get it for only $285??? Its almost a $400 exhaust!!!
