1995 Formula LT1 problem

1995 Formula LT1 problem hey guys, i am new here and need a little help. I just bought a 1995 Pontiac Formula with an LT1, it has quite a few mods, etc, but they don't matter... the problem is when I accelerate really hard, I get some white smoke out of the exhaust... I was wondering what this might be... I am kinda panicking, because i bought it cause of the condition and low miles, not for it to need new rings or something crazy. Thanks for the help,

why would it have anything to do with the tranny, it is coming out of the exhaust pipes, and it has stopped now, which means it was probably just moisture, but there is a small oil leak around the valve covers and the service engine soon light came on, then I cut the car off, and it hasn't come back on since...

If you accelerate real hard your gonna be at high RPMS, and the oil might leak onto your exhaust manifolds create a puff of smoke... And yes moisture does that too (when car has sat for a while).
It only takes a little oil though to make a big cloud, and since you are accelerating I doubt you would be behind yourself to see it coming out of the tailpipes... so its probally going straight under the car and coming out from the back, which made you think its coming out of the pipes...

it has hooker headers, slp cold air intake, hooker exhaust, not much else from what i can see...
Ok, i got it up on the lift, the guy looked at it and say oil is leaking from where the dipstick goes into the block... the pcv valve is new and working, so that has nothing to do with it... the leak is getting worse now, smoking a lot more, and when i stop the car, oil is no dripping onto the ground... i'm lost here.. also, a few times while stop, the car almost stalled out, but recovered and then the service engine soon light came on... that is probably something else... either way, this sucks

Since you had your PCV valve checked I would go ahead and check to make sure your o2's,wires and plugs are in good order (better to eliminate the easy stuff first) then you can look closer at your dipstick(make sure it's bolted in all the way) and possibly run all of that gas out of the tank(especially if it's been sitting for awhile without being started up). Like I said it never hurts to eliminate the small stuff first...
