Default Hotcam ONLY dyno numbers

Finally got on the dyno tonight to check out the gain from the cam. I can't
believe how much I gained. I got almost a 28 hp gain with the Hotcam ONLY, no
tuning, no headers yet. So now I'm sitting at 324 rwhp SAE. I lost a few
pounds of torque throughout the powerband up until above 5k, then I'm making 30
more lb. feet.

Since I'm still on stock tuning, they had to cut me short (~5,800 rpm)....the
car was still building power at that point. I don't think it will get much
above 330 or so with a new redline set, but I'm extremely impressed with where
it sits. Not bad with a little ole Hotcam through stock exhaust manifolds.

Once I get a set of headers, and tuning, I'm optimistic that it just might hit
the 350 rwhp mark.

I have seen hot cam six speed car hit in the high 340s with long tubes, can be done.

I'm planning on the same set up - baby cam only w/stock exhaust. The only thing I'm swapping out to is a radix fuel pump and 28# injectors - thats because they crapped out and need replacing anyway. This set up in previous/same cars has seen about 27-30rwhp gain (same as you) with just that alone so it should push me into about 335 rwhp minimum after tune.
I wonder if I'll see the same thing: loss of torque *after* a tune?
Won't know for a couple of weeks - I'm on the waiting list

damn nice numbers man!

Is that hotcam a 218/228 .525/.525 on a 112LSA? My baby cam (even smaller lift than a hotcam at 218/228 .495/.502 on a 112LSA makes 330rwhp and 345rwtq, but i do have LT's and exhaust.

I will be upgrading here shortly to hit the 400+rwhp mark on stock bottom end, I can't wait!

Ya, get that thing tuned, and you should hit that HP mark..A buddy of mine a hotcam in a 355 (93'z), with a sick tune, and it put down 340rwhp..So, your fine..
