Sorry didn't mean to sway from initial subject, but I was just wondering. Don't know too many lt1 owners in this area, mostly the ls1 boys
Midtown, I go to Tech, live there also during the school year.

Sure that sounds like fun. I should be back up there around Aug 20th.

For most of the trip the ride was actually smoother the faster I went.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention I will probably do a tune as the first mod since right now this car is governed at 105
so how you going to take out the speed limiter? i need this!

I actually went from 2.73's in my formula to 3.42's and that was the best thing I ever did to the car. Really noticed a difference in the pull off the line. I recently added a Yank 3000 converter and well lets just say the rear tires are no good w/o drag radials. The car also has header and a y-pipe also another thing that was well worth the money, woke the car up a good bit. That with some tuning on a dyno will really help.

Well I was planning to get LT1edit so I could tune myself. If you just need something like that done once you could do a mail order like PCMsforless for a bit cheaper.

They had a low speed limiter set and came with the 110 speedo if the car was not ordered with Z rated tires initially.

congrats, sounds similar to my car.

Im prob. going to keep the 2:73s for now, from what I hear from nitrous junkies the low gears are great for keeping traction with the 150 shot

You should come out to one of the meets at Hooters to meet everybody in the Southern Section. BTW were you with Craig at the last F-body shootout in May? I was the tall guy with the black Pantera T-shirt on. I think you have been to PnR once with Craig, but I was not there.

FIRST thing I would do is some kind of manual fan switch. Whether you buy one or make your own. Keeping that thing cool in the staging lanes is critical to getting the best of your car.

Next would be a stall and some DR's. I would go with no less than 3k conv. If you drive your car a lot and like gas mileage I would keep the 2.73's, they're not really that bad. Advantages are being able to hook better at the track and on the street, plus it'll be easier on your rear.

After that, it comes down to money. If you want to go cheap I would say nitrous. I ran 12.0's @ 116ish with my old '96 in sig, with nothing more than a K&N, cat-back, and a 150 shot on DR's. If you add a stall your solid 11's easy. OR you can go the bolt-on route and do headers, 1.6's, 3.73's etc. It's not hard to run solid 12's with bolt-ons.

Only other thing I'll say about gears, other than the fact that I liked my 2.73's , is if you DO plan on going with a power adder in the future stay away from 4.10's. Anything more than 3.73's an you'll be running out of steam before you cross the traps.

Oh, and nice looking TA!

Jon
