lt1 mods
Alright I've been looking for a ls1 powered car, truck whatever for a long time. there always too much. lol but most of the lt1 cars are right in the price range to where I can pay cash for the car. What I really want to know is how much money does it take to get the lt1 pasted a bolt on ls1 and what parts would I need. I hate the way they look but I can always swap a 98 or newer front end on there.
Thanks

if you want a front end conversion i say go ahead and get an ls1 car
that front end is about 2500 dollars which is the price difference in a nice lt1 car or a early year ls1 car
on a personal note i dont have an f body but if i was to get a 4th gen i like the lt1 front end better but that is personall preference.

Well, For an lt1 to beat a full bolt on ls1, it takes full bolt ons and a cam or nitrous or stroker..... and add a stall for a4 cars.... heads cam will do the trick easily..... also gears.... or thats at least what i hear it takes.... i ahve pretty much full bolt ons and i hold my own against your average ls1....

If you're not into the LT1 scene, don't get one... you won't be happy
I love LT1s, but that's only because I've always loved Z28s since I was a little kid and I used to ride my bike past the Chevy dealership in town and look at the brand new LT1s. The LT1 is a very quirky platform.

Full bolton LS1s put down between 340-370 RWHP with most being in the 350 rang. For an LT1 to make those kind of numbers its going to take all boltons plus a cam. I know of some M6 LT1s putting down in the 350-380 range with boltons and a cam.

You also have to consider track times. A stock LS1 is only .5-.7 faster than an LT1 on average. That's not much at the strip. A cutout, some tires and a good driver will make an LT1 run with an LS1 down the 1320. Add some gears and you'll be passing them. About $4k-5k (depending on how much work you do yourself) and you can have a smog legal LE1 setup from lloyd elliot that will put down amazing times and about 375 RWHP. Enough to take most LS1s with anything short of a lope, and you still end up with better looks, better sound and a bigger wallet after it's all said and done.
But if you don't like the looks of the LT1 cars, just buy an LS1.
