Default hows the lt1 on gas??

my ls1 cars were pretty decent on gas when i kept my foot out of it. im wondering how the lt1 is on gas. i wont be going internal...just bolt-ons. im hoping doing some intake and exhaust mods will help the gas mileage as well.

I think its not uncommon for an M6 to get 28 mpg or so highway?

Mine does great on the highway, ~25mpg, but horrible in town, like 12mpg.

when my 95 roadmaster was stock except for homemade cold air intake, and glasspacks, I was averaging 28mpg on highway trips. Not bad for the Lt1 pushing 4000+ lbs, then again I had the highway gear from hell; 2.56

Stay out of it(which isn't too often) I've seen 17 in city. And 31 on hwy (when i first got the car) I hardly use the highway though. I got a 97 M6 3:42's.

combined highway/city, shifting generally around 3K, I average around 16/18 mpg.
This is with yearly fuel filter changes, 93 octane, and shitty New England traffic.

definetly get rid of cats and get intake/exhaust you will see a pretty damn good gain and also better performance. Stock m6 with flowmaster i would get almost 30 on highway. Now I get about 24 which isnt bad for a stroker
