4.10s on the A4 LT1...
I'm going with 4.10s on my otherwise stockish (see sig) LT1 car. I'm expecting a slight drop in MPG. What do you expect this will give me in the quarter, based on my current best (sig)?
Also I plan on running sticky tires soon (praying to the ten bolt gods on this one) once I pick up my Nitto 555Rs. What do you think I could get in the 1/4 with the DRs and the 4.10s?
I'm also planning on tuning this beast very shortly, getting a base tune from pcmforless and playing with it a tad.

Launching will be the hard part, beyond that I think you will like them. That said once you do the math with the b-bodies going from 2.93/3.08 to 4.10s your highway RMPs end up being about what they would have been in D befre the swap. So on the highway it is just like losing OD. If you have 2.73s it will be a little worse for you and if 3.23s slight better. Just wanted to offer a way for you to gauge what the car will be like a cruise speed after the swap.

I did the same thing when my car had a catback, cai, hpp3 and 4.10s. The complete lose of traction didnt really do me to much good. 4.10s will however make a big cam alot better for driving around on the street.

I have an M6 and am planning on getting some 4.10's. I'm throwing my 275's back on so I don't break the rear. How do M6's react to some gearing? I'm hoping for a big difference!

i've got the M6 with 4:10s and a buddy of mine had the A4 with 4:10s and he said that he noticed the same or better MPG around town. he contributed it to the fact that the trans shifted quicker and got into OD quicker than it did before. i don't know what his factory gears were but i think it was 3:23 because he had the 150MPH speedo. but i am just going by what i know on the M6s with the 150MPH speedo. if i ever get the chance to get a 12bolt or 9" i will probably got up to 4:56 gears since she is not my daily driver any more.

I thought all of ou cars had the 150 MPH speedo. It's not the speedo that determines the gears, it's either having over drive or just drive. If you have OD, D, 2, 1....you have 3.23.

no my brother has a 94 transam v8 with the 115 reading speedo and he has 2.73 gears and on top of that he has a govenor on it!!! sucks *** for him...lol...but anyway i have an A4 in my camaro which had the stock 3.23 in it. so i replaced them with 3.73 and i must say that i would have went for the 4.10's. its a difference allright from 3.23 to 3.73 but since i barely do any highway driving 4.10's in a A4 would be awesome if your driving around town, your local streets, cruising, etc......

As long as you dont go to a big cam/nitrous/blower/turbo and pushing high mph you wont be smacking the limiter in 3rd gear which is where you want to be, the peak power in 3rd gear.
