Default Elbow Sensor

So my buddy was driving with his sensor out for a week on accident, and he puts it back in and says wow were did all my power go? So on the way to school today, i took mine out and WOW i felt a difference, the tires now bark and spin when shifting!!! Our mechanic says its going to killl MPG but it will be great for 1/4, so we go out on sunday were gon check it out. I recomend LT1 guys trying this out for yourselfs, its a great boost of hp and its not even expensive. ahahahhahahah

if you like unfiltered air going into your engine go for it. why not just take the intake elbow off?

ITs the sensor on the sid of the elbow, the little half inch plug!!! not the hole damn intake.

it's called an intake air temperature sensor or IAT sensor. you can put a resistor in one of the wires to fool the computer into thinking the incoming air is cooler than it is, but i wouldn't reccomend taking it out. thats dumb. i was being sarcastic.

b/c it opens up a path for unfiltered air to enter the intake manifold without passing through the filter element. think much?

I'm confused with what you wrote here. Did you already run in the quarter with it off? If so, did you run a better time?

Of course I'm here. I moderate the section.

You weren't telling people to do it, huh??

What do you call that?

Don't post **** like this again. You've been on my nerves several times already. This is the last warning before you take a small vacation from this forum.

Are you talking to me with the "think much" attitude? If so, I don't remember being confrontational at all.

ok, to clear things up, they unpluged the iat sensor, not take it out, I was out there and had him plug it back in for the last run because when you have it unpluged it retards timing, (right?) so no worrys about unfiltered air.

Camaro Owner
I think he was talking to cyphur_traq
By the way we were just testing it out, which is what you go to the track for. We put a piece of tape over the hole so no air would get in. Personally i thought it helped out cause i was running my best times, but thats my own opinion. I beat my best time by .1 with nothing new done to the car. Whether it was the sensor or not i dont know.

personaly I think you hit your best, because it was 70 degrees today, even cooler before I got there, congrats on breaking into the 13's though.

Thanks man
Even though it doesn't sound fast to 90% of the people on this site, im pretty proud of it. It makes me the 2nd fastest car at our high school only behind my buddies turboed CRX @10 psi, which has ran a 13.3. About the temp, i think that had a lot to do with good times, cause i had been running consistant 14.2s in the last 2 races, but it was about 70 degrees when i got my 14.02 back in may. Oh well. I guess we will never know because i didn't have a chance to plug it back in after that CRX beat me by .01. It pisses me off too because i was 4th in points. PM me when you get the turbo all set up right in your camaro. I want a ride.
