If your state has emissions, leave them on, if not, you can remove them if you want. Its up to you. You will not see a performance gain. Just more room under the engine bay from removing the AIR pump and lines. EGR doesnt clean up any engine bay space since it's at the back of your intake.

Air is easy to take off. EGR you might as well leave it on. I might take mine off when I get my motor but until then its staying on. I have heard that Pacesetters don't rub when the motor mounts are replaced. I know I will prolly go with them just because of the price. But, if I had the money I would definetly be getting Kooks. Stainless headers to match my stainless exhaust, LOL.

I've done two Kooks header installs, but they've both been on LS1's. If Kooks did as good a job thinking out the design for the LT1 headers as they did for the LS1's, you'll love 'em. They hug the block tightly, and I lost ZERO ground clearance. The flanges were straight and thick, and I was extremely impressed with the quality of the welds. Granted, I have a 2-post lift in my shop which made the job easier, but overall, I think they are a quality piece. Stainless is nice, too.

I don't know if this is BS or not, but I have heard that with certain brands of long-tubes, the steering knuckle on 4th-Gen LT1 F-Bodies has to be disconnected, and the steering column run through a gap in the collectors purposely designed for clearance. Again, I don't know how true this is, but I've also heard that 4th-Gen LT1 F-Bodies have to have the engine lifted slightly, due to clearance issues. I didn't have to do any of that while installing Kooks on 4th-Gen LS1 F-Bodies, so I hope they stuck with the same design philosophy.

A friend of mine installed Jet-Hot long-tubes on his '97 WS6, and he had ground clearance problems. I don't think Kooks will give you problems in that regard.
