not sure what you have in the way of mods, but my friend has a cutout on his full bolt on lt1. He always runs with it open but he decided to make a run with it capped and he actually picked up 2 mph on his time. LT1's seem to like somewhat back pressure unlike the LS1's what love the cutout. BTW i would just do a single cutout, there really is no need to do two unless you have true duals already.

I have dual 3 inchers... and I did it for the sound only.... The xhaust setup is so efficient I loose power with them open.

thats the same problem that i had. After my header install i had jethot lt's, ORY, and loudmouth which left the system starved of backpressure. I felt a huge lose in power and as soon as i though a 80 series on there, i felt a considerable pick up in power.

I think maybe I should try making some runs now that i got the tuning worked out with my cutouts closed. My cutouts are 2" after the headers.

How many of you guys that have slowed down with the cutouts open have been monitoring your A/F??? There should be a change been open and closed - sure you're not going lean when you open them???

My times improved by 2 tenths and 2 mph with my dual 3" cutouts open on a Hooker LT true 3" dual setup. Dyno also showed a hp and torque increase across the entire range. That's with a very mild 383 and programming that was a little fat to begin with (pre-blower)

well the more you are putting out the more that a cutout helps, but for a stock internals 350 lt1 they really don't help that much. For a 383 its def going to benefit.

I'm not to sure about that. Before Jim (Texlurch) put the TT system on his LT1 powered 68 camaro. He ran the stock LT1 engine with 1-7/8" headers, true 3" duals and twin full length supertrapps with lottsa discs. It ran damn good with very little backpressure. I'll have to see if he still has the dyno sheet...

I have a Jet Hot LT's with a 3" ORY with a Random Tech cat back. Not sure how well the cat back flows but the cutout open feels faster mid range.

You should pick up a little time with the cut-outs open but I think it all depends on the car and what your already running. I would go with them just for the sound, I plan on putting one on sometime in the future, or whenever I get some money.
