Angry Opti=$$$$

I've been shopping around for an opti and deiced to try the dealership, total price $729.42 He would also give me a discount $642.35. To top it off he had never heard of an opti-spark he told me the correct name is distributor pack

To the people that bought one: where and how much?

Was at Summit Racing tonight - MSD has released a full opti for $499

For that money i'd rather piece together a Delteq

Try these guys:

Jason Cromer
Dal Slabaugh - Dal is local to me and i've bought a ton of parts from him @ Van Devere Olds

I think an opti from these guys is under $300

The Vented Opti from DAL with new vent Harness is under $250 shipped. No idea what the unvented one costs.

I think it's weird that it took over a year for the MSD cap and rotor to start shipping yet the full opti is ready for order and shipment the start of next year.

I bought the Dynaspark one over a year ago...I think I paid around 700 and installed it myself. I you are somewhat mechanically inclined you can do it yourself but look to spend at least 4-5 hours to do it if you take your time.

Ebay can be your best friend. That's where I got mine. By the way, that dealer is a complete dumb-***! I would've told him off.

Possibly but dropping the oil pan to get the timing cover is off is no fun either.

Never buy an opti from any parts store. I personally have done this and they don't work right! Stick with brand new genuine GM optis or the aftermarkets (MSD and Dynaspark).

Back when I owned my caprice I had to swap out the opti and Dal got it to me for less than $200. I can't remember how much less but it was a definitely a great deal.

I have a spline drive (earlier, '92-'94) opti that I bought brand new at the dealer. (Car was "stranded" at Nitro Dave's when the opti went south during a dyno session). I paid over $400 for it and it was on the car for less than a year (my new motor is a pin-drive opti). In nearly new condition, with about 5K miles. I'd let it go for $200 +shipping. Let me know.
