Slight Tapping Noise, Please help!
Slight Tapping Noise, Please help! Whats up everyone,
I just changed my spark plugs two days ago with NGK-TR6s, and ever since then ive noticed a slight tapping noise at idle coming from the driver side of the engine, i checked the plugs and wires again, and everything looks fine. The tapping noise seems to go away once im moving(or maybe i just cant hear it because of my exhaust)and then comes back at idle, but it does not get any louder at higher RPMS. There is NO loss in power. And the tapping is the same whether the is engine warm or cold. The oil could stand to be changed, but oil pressure is perfect. Im getting ready for a 75 shot of N20, but i want to find out whats going on before i spray. Any ideas guys?? thanks for the help.

I can almost guarantee thet one of the porcelain insulators is cracked from installation. Thus causing the spark to arc out. Does it run rough? BTW if I were You I would ditch the NGK's and go with brand new factory plugs.

he switched plugs to run a step colder for nitrous.. I have had bad luck with ngks but thats just me... I now run autolite 103s but you hsould run 104s if you are to switch... The tapping noise is most likely one of two things either a spark arcing somewhere other than the plug or a gasket leak from your exhaust manifold/header
