hey guys i was comming home from my girlfriends house one night and my car started sounding like a diesel engine so i pulled over popped my hood and checked my oil... well my oil seemed too hot to be normal so i checked my tepm gauge and it said the temp was fine .... so i drve to the next gas station cause they had some light .... on my way to the gas station my engine started smoking bad... well i never made i to the gas station... i put my car in the shop the next day and found out that my temp control mod MELTED and it froze the gauge in the dash... so i need to see if somebody knows where i can get a cheap lt1 so i can get my car back on the road... thanks.... oh and the guys on ls2.com are dicks and dont want to help....

If you already have $1500-$2500 saved up for a new motor, I wouldn't dump that out on a used LT1. I would actually buy the cheapest motor that can fit in that car, and use the rest on a brand new block. It'll be rough to run around in a cheap engine, but it'll be worth it by the time you get your brand new engine... in half the time!

You could pull it rebuild it yourself and use the money for the machine shop bill and a nice P/P on those heads. I just rebuilt mine this winter and also did a nice canton 6 quart pan and high volume oil pump.

Where are you located? If you go on SCFYB.com there were 2. A 97 long block for $600 with low miles and another for like $1400 I think with a cam and if I remember correctly complete.
