Default No fire!!!

I have a 94 Trans Am with a new opti and waterpump as of 4000 miles ago. I have never washed the motor or driven the car in the rain either. Well its been running great since everything new but yesterday it decided to crap on itself again. For no apparent reason the car doesn't want to start now, I mean I did wash the car but that was just the outside of it. The car will crank and crank but it won;t ever fire up. What else can I check?

You said its cranking over? but not turning on? It might be water in the Opti, or water got in the coil socket or in the coil module socket. you might want to test and see if your coil is firing, then move on to noid lights on each injector and see if you are getting fuel. After that its time to dig into the mystery world known as the PCM

Does it have spark at the end of spark plug wires? If it doesn't, check to see if it has spark from the coil to the opti... if it doesn't, done, you have a bad coil. That's what happened to me a little bit more than a month...

Ok so far I've checked the wires by pulling a wire off a plug and sticking a screwdriver inside it while someone cranked the car to see if it sparked. I didn't get any spark there. I then pulled the coil wire off the opti and touched it with the screwdriver and held it close to the block as someone cranked it again. Still no spark. Am I doing this right or is the coil my problem?

Default Troubleshooting Firing blues!!!

Give this link a try, it's a site provided by autozone that will allow you to troubleshoot automotive issues. If you don't have a ohm meter or do not have the knowledge on how to use one I'd recommend buying one. It would be smart to buy one rather than 1) paying someone to fix the car and 2) hanging parts on your car until you eventually find the problem. You can get a fairly inexpensize ohm meter from your local parts store or even wal-mart for as cheap as $20.
