Default about the replacement cat:

Im a spaz poster btw.. lol
You will have to have a muffler shop put on your cats or cat. I believe if im not mistaken one is bolt on and the other is weld on.

If you don't have emissions, cut that bitch off. Flowmaster sounds nice with no cat. I used to have one. In a related story, I know a girl that had a V6 Camaro (4th gen). I can't remember how I came to the conclusion her cat was clogged but I told her to have her dad cut it off and take it to the muffler shop. He wouldn't do it and the SOB blew a head gasket. Hers must have been bad though. However I laugh at someone's ignorance about how my advice wasn't good enough.

didnt want to read through 2 pages to check if someone already told u this....so here's my diagnosis!

O2 sensors!

If you are having problems after the car "warms up", it is probably occuring when the PCM switches to closed loop, when the 02s start taking readings. Open loop uses pre determined values.

Is it throwing an SES light?? if so, get it scanned, and that should tell you which sensor, if in fact it is an 02, could be IAC or something to that effect also....but it is definately a sensor used only during closed loop.

Take your ignition control module off and get it checked. I believe Autozone does it for free. If it is ok, do the cooling mod when you put it back on. Since it is bolted to the head, it can get quite warm. This is fine when they are new, but they are affected by heat more when they get older.

go to the dealership, and get the code scanned....instead of wasting money buying parts that are broken, waste money finding out what is.

well then that sucks....SES light would be on, if it were throwing codes....

i guess just start replaing sensors and then one by one, see if they fix the problem....once you find the culprit, return all the other stuff back to the parts store, as if u never used them...just be careful not to mess them up.

If you verified the spark plug wires, I'm betting on incorrect valve adjustment. Didn't you just do a cam change? Also did you ever find out what those 3 big chunks of metal were from in your oil pan? I hope you're not driving this thing with these kinds of problems...

Do a compression check. If it's good on all 8 cylinders, that eliminates a lot of stuff to worry about. If it won't start, it's time to check the basics.
