As far as opti I'm dumping the opti and going rear mount distributor with cam sync so I can use sequential....

Glad to hear there are going to be some kickass LT1's coming (including the one i'm building)

Looks like a resurgence of the LT1 camp trying new things... I though about ahuge single turbo Chris but the money was going to astronomical..... i might still do it later on..... i'll mess with this one first....
Mine has a label on it indicating it has the LT1 firmware.

Dammit guys! Guess I will have to do the nitrous thing this year and go turbo next year. The bar has not been changed in a long time but it looks like it will this year. Both forced inducted and nitrous records are in jepardy.

sweet thanks for the info on the XFI box. NOw that you mention it I think I do have that sticker but I gotta check again when I get home....

speaking of I've got some updated pics of the block when the machine work was done. They are kinda old as the shortblock is now done and we're just waiting on the intake so the heads can go on it..... at that point i'll just need odds and ends to finish it up like the distributor and the crank trigger, throttle body and a few misc items....

enjoy...

Call Ron Wiggins at F.A.S.T., he can tell you what number he needs to know for sure. I got mine in late Oct, and he told me mine was the first one that had actually shipped. If you got it before that, it is likely going to have a problem if you are using the Optispark. With a crank trigger or other distributor, I don't think it matters.

I have sold a few of these already, they are a pretty slick deal. Sure wakes up the old TPI cars and TBI & Vortec trucks. I personally like them better than DFI, or any other aftermarket system I've worked with.

Good luck, Ed

Thanks Ed. I'll be calling shortly to verify. I got my box in Jun 06' so now I'm worried. Good thing I haven't tried to fire the car up yet as I'd be stumped if it didn't fire had I not read this.

It would start OK, but not run cleanly much past 3K. They didn't know about that problem when the XFI was first released. If you have a crank trigger it shouldn't matter anyway. Only with an Opti.

yeah tony there is a gap between the door panel and the door bar that the window crank can make it past... it kinda grazes it but it doesn't stop it from cranking. you can't see the gap from that pic.... optical illusion

thanks ed for the XFI info. i'm going crank trigger and MSD dist so hopefully i won't need it if I don't have it....

BTW, with the XFI box is there a need for an MSD digital 6 box or will I be fine with a 6AL box and call it a day????? Doesn't the digital 6 do all the things I will already have built into the XFI????? seems like i'd be getting two parts that do the same thing....

Yeah my box delivered like March or April of 06 but hopefully like Ed said if i'm using a crank trigger and dist it won't matter......

The next few months I'm going to be a busy **** getting this car ready for racing season...... hopefully it'll be done before it gets crankin hot in Cali.....
