Mr. Gasket header gaskets...suck!!!
Replaced my paper/metal header gaskets (that came with my Hooker headers), in favor of Mr. Gasket (copper gaskets) to solve an exhaust leak I've been having. Well took her for a spin afterwards and all-be-damned if the leak didn't sound worse. My car sounds awful. The leak is killing me and my slp LM sounds like ****...way to much crackling when decelerating. Any other header gasket you guys could recommend to help me out. Thx in advance.

That actually might mean your leak is elsewhere. If you had a leak at the header gasket and somewhere else, when you fixed the leak at the headers then the other leak would be getting more flow. I say this because I've never heard of anyone disliking they're copper gaskets.

just out of curiosity, did you retorque the bolts after the heat cycle? my friend didnt listen to me about the bolts spinning out since the gasket will compress and expand and fried them. never tried copper so im not sure if this is as big a deal but worth a shot.

I believe you problem is which way you put the gasket in.
Ok, Mr. Gasket says put the raised side toward the header, i did this and WOW LEAK CITY. I swapped it around so the raised side was toward the head just for the hell of it, and wow, it works, imagine that.
Which way did you put the raised side?

I tried the percy's aluminum. It was great until my #5 plug went, burnt and cracked the gasket, so not quite forever like the box implies, but yes probably a crazy lifespan if not subjected to such things. I'm running the fel-pros that came with their head gasket set.
Got to love those header leaks, annoying moped ticking sound you have to deal with, I went and bought a combo wrench from craftsman that had one end 3/8 and the other 7/16, and its really thin and long, I don't mind header gaskets anymore.
