Default I HATE my Lt1!

My lt1 is really pissing me off!!! It seems that I have to fix or repair it daily! One problem after another!! I currently have an exhaust leak, just fixed an exhaust rattle, and just RIGHT after fixing the rattle, my speedometer is acting weird. I just cant get the car to be "fine". Who else feels my pain!?

Looks like you bought a real winner.
Im Going on near 35K without a single problem.
My Z has 112K now.

LT1's are old and alot of them have seem some tough owners.
Not mine.

And you only named 2 problems...
You think thats a hassle? Try owning a Chrysler.

dont be hatin on LT1s. my old 93 Z had 120k on it, only problems in 6 months of driving it was waterpump went bad and rear main seal leaked(duh).lol

my 97 T/A, havent had to do anything to it yet. do regular maintenance and cars should last a while, pending old owners of coarse.

I don't like how hard it is to get to the parts that need service - I.E. Plugs, Wires etc. What kind of cruel joke did the sadist engineer who designed that play?

Running wise - i've had pretty good luck

I just hit 200,000k on mine last week. On the second motor, which already has 118,00 on it, due to cold start knock that gmpp replaced with a 4 bolt main long block. Been through two opti's, on my third water pump (now csr), rebuilt trans, rearend, third radiator, second fuel pump (now 255 lph), and a few other things. I'm the second owner and have had this car for 8 yrs. I just can't part with it.

lol, well the car doesnt have TOO many problems, just simple sensor replaces necessary. I guess I'm just stressing too much just cause I have a vacuum line broken somewhere causing my engine to miss a lil. I have 115k on it by the way. Its a 1996 T/A. The problems I've had with it was the opti, water pump, fuel system, exhaust, and now the vacuum line thing.

My 97 z28 has over 120k, im the 3rd owner and rag the **** out of it. Bought it with 100k on it change the plugs and clutch and found that it still had the stock oem clutch and plugs (the same **** it came off the showroom floor with). That mother ****** ran like a jew out of a furnace, till i smashed it into a gaurd rail. Point being, the lt1 will hang with the best of um.

The only problem I have is a ******* stupid *** header leak which I can't fix because it's impossible to get to because of no room. Crossthreaded bolt holes are a BITCH. When I get LE1 heads/LE2 cam, I'm going to be getting those holes fixed. But as for now, I guess I'll be running with that tick tick tick and a 150 shot plus that shitty exhaust leak until I get that.

pffffttttttt~~~~ my LT1 has a leak issue from hell but I refuse to get rid of it! I've so far replaced the pan seal the timing chain cover seal and the waterpump - Timing chain cover seal where the pully presses down WONT SEAL RIGHT - Anyone got any idea?! Mine is that the pully itself is worn down enough to allow it to leak. . . .Note that this motor is going 174k miles *Is about to replace motor with ither an lt4 cammed lt1 or an lt4ish setup w/ intake heads ect. Cant decide if i want to go full lt4 or just the came atm.* So what do you guys think replace the pully for now?

I usually consider issues that prevent me from driving a car to be a pain. Exhaust rattles/leaks and a speedometer issue on a 10+ year old car really isnt that big of a deal.
