Did you ever find out what the problem was? How about an update.

Sounds electrical, but let us know what happens when you throw a new opti on it. THe internals of the autozone optis are good, but the caps and rotors are garabge, along with most all electrical sensors parts stores sell for our Cars. AC DELCO FTW.

Check the harness to the opti itself also.

New MSD opti solved it. Car runs great now. As much as it may seem this isnt my first rodeo with cars, and deff not with an LT1. I did ask for help because at first I didnt think it was the opti. But after taking you guys advice and using my own brain I came to the conclusion of the opti. The opti fixed it. Now IMO I dont think OE stlye optis can handle 7k, MSD digital 6, and 500 RWHP very long. I could be wrong and the MSD opti may not last 200 miles but inside that thing looked better built than a OE style. Im sorry it wasnt a ground, or a fuel problem like some of you suggested, yes I did check them very well before I went and spent 500 dollars. I was getting the same results. The opti fixed the car.

Only thing I hate now is I have no idea, how to dial in the MSD timing. I had to tweak it to get it to run decent. No that I have it roughed in I was it fine tuned. I wonder what the test is or steps are to know you are getting peak w/o going to the dyno.

I'd think a timing light would do the trick

Glad you got it all worked out. It can be so fustrating. That MSD timing is tricky. Some guys install it with no issue with the timing, then some have a problem. How hard is it to adjust and how do you know for sure it's good other than driving it?

How would you put a light on a LT1? Be hard to point a light to the crank, for all the **** on it.

If you read the msd instructions it tells you to do the timing you need to get a timing light and to make timing marks....

Is it possible that you had the battery disconnected , if so did comp reset itself , then after driving the comp then regisitered the fault again , and now plays up , its poss also there a fault on the car that then messes the opti up , fit new opti which has no fault , car ok , drive a distance then the fault in the car somewhere affects the new opti and gives it the fault, can you test to see if you have a short somewhere. Did you rev it to 7k ? .

Lol yea I beat the **** out of it. I went and picked it up off the road last night and now it is a fuel prob. It wont even fire. The fuel pump wont prime, but when trying to start it will run. I took it to Tick performance last night. Im done messing with it, and I dont do wiring issues. I think the opti fixed all the first posted videos, and after I drove it I developed another prob. I was reseting the computer each time before with no luck, so that would rule that out.
