That would probably be the Accel SuperRam for the LT1. They only made a handful of them. They do still make them for the L98 cars.

No conclusion is Edelbrock is likely to release a joke if anything. As said earlier some reps are saying 4hp gains . Edelbrock tried a decade ago and failed to deliver an improvement with the LT4 intake availability issues these days I am sure they will railroad something to market and I hope it is worthwhile but history tells me not to hold my breath. The LT1 heads are a joke, the heads/cam package is only capable at the flywheel what AI and LE are delivering to the tires through A4s .

Its a good intake, I would like to see what an XFI or XE grind would do with some AI or LE heads on a 383. Would make mad TQ and you would only have to rev it to 6000.
I have seen guys run Very quick times with this intake on 383 cars with high 3.15 gears
Notice in the article the more they done to the motor the better the Superram performed over the LT1 intake.

The Super-Ram isn't for LT1. He said L98, that's TPI.

For the TPI car they were really great intake upgrades, but then the TPiS intake came into play and pretty much takes the cake, since it's a LT1 clone with rear distributor hole.

Accel had a base for the super ram to work for the LT1, LPE had a really clean white 25th anniv that they made in to a Firehawk clone that had it.

I hope nobody holds their breath for the release of a bolt-on LTX intake that makes a noticable amount of power on a near stock (even heads & cam) engine, over the factory piece. In the real world, it just ain't gonna happen. If more than single digit hp gains at the wheels come from one I will be shocked. It will probably be like roller rockers on a stocker, about $100.00 per rwhp.

When its available and somebody has dyno and/or track proof of significant gains, I'll bite. Until then, I'll just keep dreaming about getting FI.

Just so everyone knows, I talked with an Edelbrock rep in person at the SEMA show about this intake, and he told me (under his breath) that realistically it won't be available till at LEAST March 2007, if not later. Just wanting to set the record straight.

^^^ That's what they want you to think. Keep checking back on summits site and you'll see that available/ship by date just keep dropping back. MSD did the same thing with the MSD optispark, and their cap and rotor kit..

for $538 I'll just pay someone to work over my stock intake, and then have it powdercoated...

Out of stock? They've never had any in stock, as they aren't even in production yet! Anyone wanna bet they won't be available before March, like I said??
